Agree, i am happy with the battery life too, i once played the "Game Dev Story" straight 12 hours non-stop until the battery drained, with 35% brightness (which is normal brightness, never adjust over 35% because it will be too bright for me! which is good anyway), 90% volume. The game is 2D though.

(thank gods it is 12 hours, or else cant stop playing, the game is very addictive laugh.gif )

true, due to (strangely) most people go for Asus, less supplier carrying accessories for A500. i bought all the screen protector, Sikai MibroFiber case, micro HDMI cable from ebay. Next one would be the A500 silicon case (3 available now), car charger (1 USA seller, expensive postage), car holder (a fews, not needed yet) .

have not try custom rom yet, the official rom is quite good for me, never experience the battery % charge problem, maybe you need to reset battery in the CWM?

Anyway, here is the 4.010.40 Full official update from Acer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...33#post15861033
, was meant for upgrade from 1.139.04, but you can extract the zip after decrypt with Acer Decrypter and update with CWM, clear Dalvik cache. (always backup full rom before update)
I use it to update my 4.010.38 (US version) back to 4.010.40, app and settings stay after 2nd reboot.

Saw a number of generic tablet holders on lyn and lelong. Never seen a specific holder yet, I don't know if we'll ever see it unless the sale numbers pick up.

I use gps test to err test the gps function. Put it side by side with my moto defy then compared the time they took to get a signal lock. Unfortunately even with faster fix my iconia still took around 30 seconds while defy took just 9 seconds. I just did the test twice so I dunno how accurate it is. Test was done on 2nd floor of my terrace house near the windows. I haven't really test the gps outdoor though.

Anyway, the iconia is somehow an underrated device, probably because there's no advert about it and then maybe because its an acer? But so far I think it worth the money spent, we got full usb port, Dolby speaker which sound great even at full volume and out of the box support for microsd card. A bit heavy maybe but I use it with a stand most of the time. 2 thumbs up for the iconia smile.gif

As for the GPS, 30 seconds should consider good since mobile phone uses AGPS, which "assisted" by cell towers to locate your position while iconia is pure GPS, although also listed as AGPS, but without phone capability, i assume the "A"GPS is limited.

I used once on the road, with Sygic, the route is accurate. But most of the time i just use the mobile phone Sygic, since i to not have A500 car holder and car charger if the A500 running low battery.

gnitney: what a modern dad and good child your father have =D , i hope you upgraded to 3.1 latest patches for best performance.

There's an Acer booth at the ground floor entrance of Digital Mall Section 14 PJ. They have a unit for testing.

At the sleeve that comes with it looks solid and nice!
