Add my name in the list pls. Even though I bought it for my mom, I'm still maintaining it and will use it from time to time.

My experience after using the iconia for 3 days, Tablets are something that I can live without, my android phone has everything I need (schedule, contacts, occasional browsing on the go). Even though I work in IT, I don't go on the internet or turn on the computer that much outside of the office so after a while I don't have any use for the tablet at home. I still depend more on my notebook for docs, browsing and (important!) using Garmin Mapsource. Until I can edit and manage GPS files on Android, I don't see myself using the tablet that much.

Good thing I didn't buy it for myself, if not it would be a waste of my money. smile.gif

Why I chose iconia over the rest? Primarily for the USB port, so that my mom can download photos from her digital camera without having to ask us to do it for her, and be able to view those photos without having to learn how to use a PC/notebook. I think tablets are very user friendly for older people, just touch what you want from a visual menu. If I were to get a tablet for myself (which won't happen in the near future), I would still chose iconia due to the same reasons benny888 listed out previously.

Anyone tried to hook up a digital camera to the Iconia yet? I tried it last weekend, it doesn't seem to recognize a Fujifilm camera. Thumbdrive is detected just fine.

Will try again once I've updated to 3.1.

exkaizen, the material looks ok to me but I'm not a fussy guy. For sure it doesn't look super-duper leather expensive, but it doesn't look like a low quality product. All the holes are where they're supposed to be to allow access to the device's ports and buttons.

It has a nice magnet lock to keep the cover in place when closed.

Saw a number of generic tablet holders on lyn and lelong. Never seen a specific holder yet, I don't know if we'll ever see it unless the sale numbers pick up.

I tried opening a 50MB PDF before, although its multi-page document. No problem, no lag.

One thing that's nice in 3.1, now when I connect a digital camera there's an interface for importing photos into the tablet. This is exactly why I bought this tablet, so good thing it works now!

For those of you who are looking for something smaller: http://www.techngadgets.com/27638/acer-ico...00-on-sale-now/

No 3G though, and battery life takes a hit.

but do they provide 0% installment plan??

I don't buy using installment plan, so I didn't to bother check. My policy is "if you don't have the cash for it, you can't afford it".

Yeah, if possible I'd like to like in the US you can get a 2nd hand car for 5k. However since that's not possible of course I have to take loan for necessary items. But taking a loan for luxury items is a big no for me, for example do you really need to buy a RM2k mobile phone via 1 year installment when a RM500 phone would do? And do I really need the tablet when I already have a notebook?

Anyway, we're off topic. Have fun paying off those installments! smile.gif
