Guys another question. If I set my event to "All day" event and set the reminder at 10 minutes, will my alarm remind me at 11.50 PM before the "All day" date?

hey guys,i have several question.
my dads using desire solely for biz purpose,handling lots of call and text.
need advice on whether shud root or not and the stable rom thats suitable for that purpose(handling lots of call and text).might as well used for taking pic and gaming. battery life is a serious concern,any idea?my dad doesnt use wifi,3g,gps but still the battery only lasts for 8 hours...anyway to extend it?btw brightness is reduced and yh,thats it.

and where can i get the housing for it? how much will it cost me?

Housing I not sure, never hear of people change housing for this phone.

idefense is not bad..application takes a little patience but after long time it will start to turn yellowish..I recommend Casemate tough which I'm using..Very sturdy case, drop phone also no damage..

However my "default time" is set to 8 a.m for "all day", so a 10 min reminder only reminds me at 7:50 a.m on the date I set on. How do I fix this to 11:50 p.m the day before for "all day"?

I sync my Google Calendar to Facebook birthday and everything is set to "all day" by default in my Google Calendar. After I sync to my Desire, everything is set to "all day" too. So I don't want to trouble myself to change all the birthday events to 12 a.m - something2 in order to get an 11.50 a.m reminder.

Any solution guys? T_T

Official Gingerbread 2.3.3 has better battery performance than Froyo 2.2.

Or u can refer to my previous post, it has very good battery life and extra internal rom space as well. but u need to learn google for info to DIY

OH I see, you mean reminder time for every event? Actually you can but I dont think you can set ALL reminders to a fix time...never tried. I'll try it later. (But manually yes you can)

I don't use any external application. Just the calendar application in MIUI XJ which can be sync with Google Calendar. So this is what happened:

When I set my event to "all day" (I do not set from and to) and a 10 min reminder on Oct 8, the alarm only starts at 7.50 a.m on Oct 8. So I assume if we set to "all day" the calendar thinks in a way that our event should start at 8 a.m on Oct 8, not like what we think which should be at 12 a.m on Oct 8.

Since when we set to "all day" event we do not have precise time for our event to start. For us, an "all day" would've been thought to start at 12 a.m on Oct 8 and ends at 12 a.m Oct 9 right? But my calendar doesn't think that way. Do you understand?

I want my "all day" to have a reminder at 11.50 p.m on Oct 7 when 10 min reminder is set on Oct 8. Is that possible? Why not now you make a try, set an "all day" event and a 10 min reminder on Oct 9. See what time does your HP remind you. For mine it will be 7.10 a.m on Oct 9.

I'm using MIUI XJ. Is this some kind of a bug? Yeah, if I set it From Oct 8, 12:00 a.m, To (any time) with a 10 min reminder, my alarm works correctly at 11.50 a.m on Oct 7. This alarm simply doesn't work correctly when I set to "all day" event. It would've been such a tedious job to set one by one for each birthday event since I have like 200 contacts? T_T

Just tested on Sense Calendar, no problem as the problem you stated. Most likely a bug. (As what you described underline)

A bug on the ROM, go complain on XDA thread.
So you want to do a 365 day reminder while editing each one for a contact's birthday?

I just want "all day" to be 12 a.m so that I don't have to edit one by one to set From and To. The problem with syncing to Facebook is that it sets everything to "all day". My calendar events are cluttered with birthdays only lol. I want to be the first to wish my friends haa lol. Thank you so much ya!

Anyway, you save this ROM via Backup @ Recovery first then try another ROM like MIUI-Au then see if it has the same problem. If they do, then it could be a problem from MIUI. (Try Another ROM then - like Sense) *If you really need it

It depends on the user.

If it suits you (in terms of needs balancing with stability) I prefer Au though.
I like many ROMs but they all lack 1 thing among each other which is disappointing.

have you root your phone already?

to get MIUI, go to MIUI Au website, its much more organize, you'll only need to look for the download link at the end of each post (which should be fairly obvious).

wait for 1.10.8 to be released, its coming very soon, most likely by tomorrow.

This MIUI AU able to swithc english > chinese on keyboard easily right?

I am still on Stock Hboot, never try CM7 or what every Hboot.

So which file do I need to download n install first in order to install the rom?

Keyboard English to Chinese ANY ROM also can do lar.

You just need to find a keyboard that allows you to download full library or download particular language you want.

Only the change whole ROM language to Chinese (Mandarin?) that 1 different story.

That's why MIUI is ported to XJ/Au as they are translated to English.
