I found pics that show the blue backplate to be more of a powder/sky blue than the electric blue that the promotional picture is showing

That pic with the awesome face is taken by me and not a promotional picture.
Here's another one to show the actual color comparison.

The pics on Kbdmania are overposed and given a hazy filter/look.

I stand corrected.
Then this santorini board does look really nice.
Whats your take on the build quality? It appears that the top is a 2-piece construction from the pictures that I have observed.

Maybe do a full review on the board?

You probably should not have asked that. It's like asking people what is the average price of a car. The price range of a car can go from a perodua to a bugatti veyron. I hope you get my analogy.

Maybe you can tell everyone your budget and see how it goes.

Well, at least I know the range between Perodua car to Buggati Veyron and not so much with Mechanical Keyboard. In fact, I completely have no idea on what is the cheapest mechanical keyboard that is available in the market.

After a week of try, I conclude that the white and black colour Ducky 9008 gave a different tactile feel when you type on.

Initially I preferred the black more because I have got used to it, after a week I find myself preferring the white one. The differences is that the black is slight harder while the white is softer but still have the tactile return.

The white ducky feels like red switch with the tactile

Cheapest Mech Keyboard I can think of Ducky 1009, was selling less than RM200 excluding shipping before this

The Slightly better range cost around RM300+ which all my mech keyboards cost at that range
Ducky 9008, Leopald FCR500 (I recommend getting this very worthy for the price you pay),

RM400+
Filco, Cherry

and the list goes on

The most widely available mech keyboard
- Razer Blackwidow. I dislike Razer for their poor QC thus not recommending it.

First you must know what you would want
Tactile feedback?
Harder or lighter keystroke register?
Please refer to page one.

For keycaps and other customisation you will not need it first.
After that set on your budget and go on

Thanks for your information. It is helpful. Well, the reason why I want to get the mechanical keyboard because I like the loud "tip tap sound" when you are typing something. I don't really care about other functions. It is the "tip tap sound" that got me interested. And I am surprised to learn that mechanical keyboard are so expensive.

What is your budget?

What is the usage of keyboard, Gaming or typing?
Do you need numpad?
Do you need macros?
Do you need backlit?
Do you need it to be portable?
Do you need local warranty, or are you willing to forgo the local warranty to get more options from China/Taiwan? i.e Taobao & PCHome

The first question is the most important one I think.
New Mechanical Keyboards can range from RM150 from the cheapest ones, to over RM2 - 3k for the crazily expensive ones.

Is there any place or shop that I can test all kinda different color of MX Switches? I've no experience with mechanical keyboard before so it's better for me to do some testings and see what kinda switch is suitable for me.

For ''tip tap'' sound purpose then you want to get a mechanical keyboard, then i will recommend you Buckling Spring(IBM Model M) more than Cherry blue switch. Cherry blue switch's sound is kind off high pitch(sharp) and not all ppl can get use to/like the double action of Cherry Blue Switch(Squarebox and I).

But, IBM Model M is rare(EOL for over 20years) and i assume only 2nd hand one is available out there, not to say more on it's expensive price.

SO the best solution will be go and try on Cherry Blue 1st b4 you make the purchase.

There is no practical solution for it.
Impractical solutions will be:
1. Sanding down the glossy surface then repaint other paint on it. Someone in GH is making a WhiteWidow with that way.
2. Get the RB matte?
