It is known that certain areas in Wangsa Maju has some reception. Anyone stay in Wangsa Maju here, do share your experience of the reception.

You got to use outdoor UHF antenna for better reception. If you dont have one, or u have one but many years already, consider change new antenna and RG6 coaxial cable. Make sure no signal boosters are used.

Cheap rabbit ears type not work for me. I at Danau Kota, PV condo.

I at Danau Kota, Setapak. Indoor antenna get nothing, try cheap rabbit ear and another type also can't.

At the end use those portable antenna with detachable stick and magnetic based then stick at my balcony only can get all the signal.

Cheap rabbit ears doesn't work for me. In the end I made my own small folded-dipole and it worked. However, outdoor antenna is recommended. I have two set ups, one with indoor and one with outdoor.

Rabbit ears type is really for VHF, not UHF
Wangsa Maju has bad reception unless you live with line of sight to Bkt Sg Besi
Genting and Menara KL are blocked

Hi all during rain will lost signal just like astro. What we can do to improve the signal during rain?

If this happens when you're receiving digital TV signals via UHF antenna, this means the signal strength is quite low.

Adjust your antenna position while monitor the signal levels until you get the highest signal strength readings. If still low, consider change new, better antenna (more elements).

Can recommend me any antenna?

Im in Taman Ibu Kota (near to danau kota) using indoor antenna with amplifier, but need properly adjust to get best signal (really try hard to get around 60-80% signal quality). im so lazy to install outdoor antenna. Sometimes heavy rain can degraded signal quality a bit.

ya, indoor antenna with amplifier will work if lucky. I saw the shop lot at ground floor using it well.

Luckily now the building already install the centralize UHF antenna, so no need to use already.

Okay, so Malaysian analogue TV is officially ends nationwide. Now is fully in digital.
So how the digital TV channels comes to your TV screen via DTT? Here's the answer:

MYTV Broadcasting uses C band satellite as a backhaul/backbone to distribute its channels, from satellite to the main digital TV transmitters.
The satellite is called ABS 2, which located at the orbital position of 75 °E.









What? What are you thinking? Want to try receive it, right?
You need a parabolic satellite dish as big as 10 feet (3 metres) to be able to get signal. Not a chance even for 7.5 feet or 6 feet dish...
In comparison, Astro and/or MYTV satellite dish used at consumer homes is 65cm (0.65 metres or 2.1 feet) in size.

Unless you want to spend thousands over ringgit to make your house similar to Measat Satellite Broadcast and Teleport Centre which has gigantic satellite dishes in the satellite dish farm, and your neighbours and passerby thinking that you're trying to hack on Russian satellites (I watch too much action movies la seriously), then I think you might as well settle it with a UHF antenna, or get the MYTV hybrid box for the installer to use 65cm MYTV satellite dish to receive the channels from Asiasat 9 Ku band satellite.

According to the source, all channels are currently free to air on ABS 2 C band, not sure how long will it be. But then, 10ft dish to receive around 15 Malaysian TV channels at your home is kinda..... errrgh.... So good luck trying.
