I highly discourage the use of those ready-assembled, rotatable antenna. Get the proper UHF yagitenna. Any good electrical shop will stock them. Pair it with RG6 cable, it'll give you a long trouble-free service. This post has been edited by 9M-MAS: Dec 21 2017, 12:23 PM |

QUOTE(stinky @ Dec 24 2017, 06:55 PM) Hi all. Any comment on this antenna. Currently in Singapore. Can get for SGD29. Plan to use indoor condo in Kepong Err... Why would you buy in Singapore dollars if you can buy in Malaysia Ringgit? Kepong is approx. 10km away from KL tower (line of sight), so you should be able to get strong signals even with a cheap and short antenna, such as the ones from Lazada... A cheap one is good enough actually (unless if you say there's a lot of high hills around your area, then it's a different story). But you can go ahead with good quality ones if you want... |

QUOTE(stinky @ Dec 25 2017, 12:28 AM) Basically my condo Balcony is facing West while KL Tower on my South East. Even with 36db gain, my condo at menjalara can only receive signal when I hold this antenna at the balcony window. I bring it away from window by 1ft and signal is gone. Is this because my balcony is facing another side of kl tower? So I hope this indoor antenna with 36db gain can receive signal How are they going to resolve this issue for consumer ? |

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, have you turned on the power for the antenna? How are they going to resolve this issue for consumer ? If you have, this is kind of to be expected for now. The best solution is as you have found out - mount that antenna somewhere near the window. This post has been edited by 9M-MAS: Dec 26 2017, 09:13 AM |

But when i disconnect the booster and directly plug the antenna to tv, i get the signal when holding at the window. I will check the booster again later today and update. |

QUOTE(stinky @ Dec 26 2017, 09:30 AM) Thats the weird part. When i plug the antenna (light is on) with the supplier booster with USB to TV, I do not get any signal even holding it close to the window. That's because your antenna are able to receive adequate signal even the booster is turned off. But when i disconnect the booster and directly plug the antenna to tv, i get the signal when holding at the window. I will check the booster again later today and update. If the distance between your nearest TV transmitter to your home is too close, there's no need to turn on booster. If you insist to do so, it will tend to receive too much signals (signal overload), causing it to show "No Signal". Remember, this is digital TV, not analogue TV. It is not like analogue TV, where the more the signal, the better the picture quality. It's not for the case for digital TV. Digital TV signal is, once you can get enough/adequate signal, you'll get perfect picture and sound quality. But if the signal is too poor or too strong, straight away "No Signal" or pixelation (e.g. a lot of coloured boxes appears on screen, similar like what you see when watching Astro during bad weather.) |

Checking in. For JB folks. Almost all Malaysia FOTA(free over the air) channels, tv1,2,3, TV8, ntv, ect ect ect all can recieve already.
I use 6 leaf antenna each in the own rooms. Works great. The antenna is the size of a 7inch tablet. And as thin as 10sheet of a4 paper. Just mount it on the wall or leave it on the table. I bought mine on lazada. sent out from hongkong, remember to choose the malaysia standard connection.(Non-US plug) I bought for rm 24. |
