QUOTE(coolkwc @ Jun 23 2011, 10:38 AM) BLM crucial soundproof part is why will bonnet soundproof will make no diff? btw if i would like to insulate engine noise, places i should insulate will be firewall & bonnet?1. Wheel arc, 2. Fender, 3. Front Door 4. Floor 5. Firewall. By doing 1st 4 properly, you can reduce engine and road noise effectively adi. Bonnet soundproof effect can say equal to NONE. Don't waste ur hard earn money there. |

The majority of noise comes from tires and road and engine. These noises come mainly from the doors, floor and firewall. Therefore, for maximum effect, the main target is there. Bonnet faces the sky. Firewall, floor and doors directly faces you. |

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Jun 23 2011, 11:43 AM) Good morning, guys!! Thanks for the tips. i m going to follow your instruction and see how things works out.I refilled my fuel tank yesterday. Guess how much km/l I got for my previous tank? Honestly, I wouldn't trust Brothers to do anything on my car. He doesn't mean free petrol. He used to use RON97 and now switch to RON95. Because of price, every 1 liter of RON97 can almost buy 2 liter of RON95. Just wondering. Did you switch off the AF function? Well, the first few thousand km will not be representative of the actual FC. Maybe after 5K or 10K service. Also, I would recommend that you follow the proper procedures when when measuring petrol. Otherwise your FC readings will be inaccurate. 1) Fill full tank 2) Reset odometer 3) Drive normally until ready to refill (doesn't have to be until empty tank) 4) Refill full tank again 5) Compare the quantity of petrol in liters you just pumped vs how much mileage you just drove 6) Repeat steps (2) to (5) at least 3 times and get an average. This should give you a proper reading. If you want good FC. please also ensure you keep your tires properly inflated. Every 2 - 3 weeks would be nice. Try not to rev hard frequently as well. Try maintain around 2K to 3K RPM and cruise around +-90KPH. overall, the feel is much much better than the 1.3 AT. |

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Jun 23 2011, 01:54 PM) Wow, how do you achieve that? I normally get about 360km with 30L of petrol. But my last full tank I managed to get 391km with 28.5L of petrol. My car's manual also. Mileage now is 14k km.Daily journey: Morning and evening LDP jam from PJ to Subang. Evening from Damansara Heights to PJ. Night time from PJ to Dea Petaling and back. I normally switch gear at about 2 - 2.2k rpm. Sometimes will pull till 4krpm, but rarely. |

Previously Proton Edar use Petronas Syntium 800 for my engine oil. Is this the best? Should I continue use it? or any other better? I do some research said Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Fully Synthethic Motor Oil not good for 1.3cc car. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1375295 anyone tried this PENNZOIL 100% FullySynthetic Engine oil, i heard is good for saga BLM http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1751820 one say full synthetic not good, and another one say full synthetic good Hope more expert can give more advice on it. QUOTE(coolkwc @ Jun 23 2011, 10:38 AM) BLM crucial soundproof part is oh i see taught engine noise comes out from the bonnet area but yeah thinking over it again most of the sound pass through the firewall into the cabin.anyway for now i will stick to my subwoofer may be when the car rubber seals worn out and overall cabin gets noisier due to ageing i might opt to soundproof. 1. Wheel arc, 2. Fender, 3. Front Door 4. Floor 5. Firewall. By doing 1st 4 properly, you can reduce engine and road noise effectively adi. Bonnet soundproof effect can say equal to NONE. QUOTE(NewbieBetta @ Jun 23 2011, 08:10 PM) hey,i remember someone in here a forumer recommend use fully synthetic earlier and the 1.3L engine will do fine.. IMHO there's no reason why a change fr semi to fully synthetic engine oil shld cause any prob. Unless, of course, the viscosity/SAE grade is changed, too. but some used semi synthetic for some time & change to fully, they report that their engine are not doing well with it.. who is that forumer again? Me planning to change when service interval is 10k Km...hehe...cos only then it wld b worth using Fully Synthetics! |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jun 23 2011, 03:33 PM) no highway in sabah....only lots of uneven roads and potholes Wow. Then how the heck did you get that kind of mileage? 13 inch rims? How many km/l are you getting? Consistently getting 11++km/l was my holy grail, lol. Maybe I should start aiming higher .. there are certain stretch of road that have no traffic lights but only last like 5KM only This post has been edited by +Newbie+: Jun 23 2011, 08:30 PM |
