QUOTE(antonio @ Jul 11 2011, 12:17 AM) can this be use for LAN??? I need one which can monitor stuffs like: -LAN activity, traceroute, ports traffics, speed/bandwidth graph which has the ability to record by minute/hour/day That one can only use for wifi monitoring la ..... I'm not really using any special tool to monitor LAN, so far seem to be running ok on my RB750, also it's just 5Mbps, really nothing much to monitor about .....

QUOTE(iqa1309 @ Jul 10 2011, 11:36 PM) Hi, Sorry. Off-topic a bit. Would there be any chance that Unifi can be upgraded to 100 Mbit/sec or even 1 GBit/sec in the future without laying new cable or infrastructure ? Mmm...wondering when will Malaysians (if ever) be able to experience 1 Gbit/sec ? FTTH possible, VDSL not possible.

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jul 11 2011, 02:46 AM) If RB750G, WAN port also gigabit?? Ya that's right, B750G/750GL all ports are gigabit, usually Port1 is defined as WAN.

Biz5 user here in Bangsar. Quite disappointed with Unifi's service. One of the first users so been using for a year. At first, very stable - service never down. Last few weeks, service will be down every Friday or Saturday. On the DLink router, the orange internet light next to the power light will be on. Have to call Unifi help center to reset the port. Normally will be back up within 2 -3 hours.
This weekend was worse. Down on Friday evening for 2 hours and again yesterday for two hours. Technician blame the outage on 'heavy Unifi usage especially on Fridays and weekends'. Looks like the Unifi infrastructure is unable to handle even the current usage.

Normally will be back up within 2 -3 hours. Intermittent problem with the D-Link router. Try to get TM to replace it. What I noticed with Unifi (unlike Streamyx) is that we do not get as much of the need to port reset when there are issues. I spent a good couple of weeks with Unifi folks when I had issues with unexplained connectivity (only internet could not reconnect until hours later however IPTV was fine all the while) after a power reset of the router. To the extent that I had some discussions with the network people directly since the call centre was unable to assist further. The new router immediately fixed the problem. And its weird because I ran every check on the old router and could not find anything wrong with it. Also noticed bad latency (pings and jitters) from 8pm till midnight on international connections. Started around 2 weeks back. Traceroutes seem to indicate congestion only at the first hop. This post has been edited by XPS: Jul 11 2011, 06:58 PM

Anyone know when the tested the fiber signal, what kind of unit they use? My neighbour got problem with his iptv where the picture is jerked. The speed also less than 5 Mbps.
When the technician come they measure he signal is about 17. The technician said above 25 is problematic. Just to be sure, when I got mine installed my signal is 27. But I not getting any symptom. Iptv is ok, download is ok. Except at midnight or sometime can see Tm shaping in progress. Other than that I line is good.

Outside fiber to BTU is (fiber)..
BTU need to connect to 1) Phone line (normal phone cable) 2) RG (router) Ethernet cable.
RG need to connect to 1) STB (IPTV) - ethernet cable 2) PC - ethernet cable or wifi
All cable is 15 meter maximun.
