They didn't block any warez site. I'm using the 2mb streamnyx package.
WTH. They are blocking it on the Unifi package? Sucks then I might not get the Unifi package then.
*
I don't think they blocked them yet. The thing now is that SKMM/MCMC already file a request quoting some stupid law asking ALL the ISPs to take action to block those websites. That means no matter what package or what provider you've got. As long as the ISP start blocking, you can't access the listed 10 sites.

ASUS RT-N56U

Hopefully this stylish device from ASUS will be the very first all-in-1 + dual-band + 2xUSB + full gigabit router for UniFi !  drool.gif
http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=82&Itemid=78

Another option for power/advance users, or for those who are looking for a really cool & style device !  tongue.gif

Custom firmware for UniFi in progress, stay tuned .....  flex.gif

This device uses one of current Ralink's top end chip RT3662 @ 500MHz, looks like Ralink is coming back again!  smile.gif

So i guess it is true that all broadcom chip based router is hopeless in doing VLAN ID tagging above 15 seeing all router Asus engineered for Unifi is Ralink based chip. Broadcom based RT-N16 will probably never see the light of day.

Added on June 14, 2011, 12:11 amOn a side note, California state is getting 1Gbps FTTH for only USD $70 (~RM210), or a budget menu of 100Mbps for USD $40 (~RM120).

And here we are proud to pay RM199 for 10Mbps. With the government going all out to censor internet, ISP blaming us abusing bandwidth and setting ridiculous cap sugestion on fibers.

I think you can't really compare it this way. You need to know that in US, most of them is like getting files locally as most sites have their servers based in US. Who the heck in US will care to request something from malaysia server. This is just pure opinion and my thoughts. If you get and know what I am trying to say. We, malaysian is the other way round. We need a lot of data/info from foreign server and also local servers but the thing appear that we're getting more data from foreign servers than they do. What i mean is we rely more on foreign servers while they're just getting something from local server. Pure Thoughts of mine. I'm not sure whether this thought is valid. xD

i agree almost none of the hosting provider can accommodate multiple 100mbps load. but hosting with 1mbps? where did this fact came from?
Also, didn't u read i wrote applications like DC++?
my previous post is not arguing how fast we can go. It's how expensive we are.
as long as your house/condo is HSBB fiber ready, you're good to go.
Try home plug instead of wifi?
They will have to drill to punch the fiber through wall. If you want them to pull through the roof, that's considered as non-standard installation and you'll have to bear extra charges.

Hi guys, I got a question regarding UNIFI. My friend told me that i have to terminate my existing copper phone line. Is it true? Its quite troublesome for me since my alarm system uses the copper phone line.
*
Condo or landed property? If condo then possibly yes as they need the wall socket which is connected to VDSL2 system. If landed property(normal house) then probably no need as they will pull fibre straight to your house, you can just terminate your streamyx and keep your phone line.

oh okay, but changing my whole alarm system will be really expensive  sweat.gif
In a nut shell if i wanna keep my existing line i just have to pay 2 bills right?

VIP 5 ( RM150 ) + tm bill?
*
Yea. But actually I think alarm system will work on VoIP too as they're basically the same. The problem here is that when there's electricity cut, it won't function. It's best you keep the tm line and pay RM26 per month for its rental. Who knows those thieves cut power from outside then your alarm system won't be making any calls.

Hi~
I want to apply for Unifi but currently i still have 1 year contract for the streamyx BB 1Mbps package. Will it have any extra charges for upgrading to Unifi? Some more i want to know is the installation fee waived and free 1 month subscription promotion available for online subscription?
*
Those promotion still ongoing. 1 year contract can be forfeited but you must terminate streamyx by bringing the form that the installer pass to you after installation. Wait for more reply here as i'm worried that i will be giving wrong info as I've not gone through these

Haven't really got time to try it out, since it's more like a draft-N, I'm worrying the actual transfer rate might not be enough to handle the IPTV, especially HD and/or during channel switching.  sweat.gif

Previously I did test based on 2 units of TL-WR941ND, still gerking not smooth .....

Anywhere, lately been getting some requests from our eighbourhood SingTel exStream users to seek manufacturers to do something for them.  Basically exStream uses:
Vlan.10 = Internet (Auto DHCP not PPPoE, real external IP, no MAC Address control & no need WAN Online Check)
Vlan.20 = IPTV (PRIO:4  CPI:0)
Vlan.30 = VOIP (got provide user & SIP password)
Vlan.40 = TR069 (only use for monitoring and firmware upgrade on 2Wire)

Currently testing on this prototype feature:
[attachmentid=2279229]
The VOIP is more for exStream users, not us.

Hopefully this will make everyone happy !  wink.gif
Once tested no problem, then will decide which model to implement.
You are not the only one, many more are asking the same including me !  tongue.gif
No worry, TPL is aware of such demand, especially when recently the TL-WR1043ND is selling around RM140 only  drool.gif

why contact streamyx... I think you need to go straight to tm if you're referring to ur unifi internet password. Why don't you check back your email?

I have a question,

I got a UNIFI offer during that period of promotion
I live on the 2nd floor of a shop-lot, I am willing to pay RM149 for UNIFI instead of the RM199.

They were saying they're not sure whether I can change from corporate to consumer =_=
so am I able to change? I want to pay RM149 instead of 199

Need  icon_question.gif
*
Erm... I don't know whether you can change but I'm going to comment on that two packages. If you're home user, got a TV set for IPTV and you need that unlimited landline call, only you get VIP5 (RM149) but you need to know that when quota is implemented, you'll be capped to some crazy snail speed if you hit the quota BUT for the time being, quota is not implemented YET! The benefit of getting BIZ5 is that it has NO QUOTA (use however you like!) BUT(I hate to use BUTsss but I must) you won't be getting the IPTV and unlimited landline call(you still get the phone though).
Oh... I don't know whether this helps but there's a cybercafe nearby is using VIP20 instead of BIZ20. They installed 4xVIP20+4xVIP5 just for like... 30~40PCs!

u wait..then u call again then u call them again..thats damn expensive, just dont call them many times...at 30cent per minute, usually i will be on hold for around 6-8 minutes, and in another 5 minutes i explained to them, when they said will make a report, i hung up..i told them no need for me to wait as i will get ticket number by email and sms.
the next day..within 24 hours, they will call me again to confirm my availability for them to send technician at home...it around 15minutes only..
*
Calling from VoIP is only 4cents/minutes.
