Dude.....it's just a sarcasm/joke, chill....

Then again, would you have thought our dear PM wasting precious taxpayers' money on useless sms greetings? In Malaysia, everything is boleh one and who's to say he won't do the same in lowyat "LOL".

And when I mentioned monitored, I meant monitored by BN cybertroopers/supporters lah. Geez, do I need to spell everything out?

I've seen this coming a mile away. We all did.

What irks me is that some of these sites aren't entirely hosting copyrighted materials; I also use the listed file hosting sites to download computer mods, free-license utilities and compilation artworks from 4chan, Pixiv and deviantART. And what about obscure movies and music you'll have a hard time finding on legal music stores?

The gomen's free trade agreement with the Americans, coupled by pressure by the RIAA and MPAA and the crummy local entertainment industry, have all pressured them into imposing such blocks. The gomen wouldn't had been as bothered about it if the Yanks hadn't knocked on their door promising riches if we open our trade routes and curb piracy, but then again, it also gives our gomen the push they need to set into motion plans for covert Internet censorship. And Najib and Rais had the balls to tell us censorship of the Internets is something they won't allow; nice job contradicting yourselves.

Issue a complaint to the MCMC. And if you are 21 years old or older, give them a piece of your mind through the ballot box.

well its quite funny that they accuse the site are used for illegal download movies and music.

megaupload does not tolerate illegal files download...if they found it surely it will delete,it just matter of time.

how goddamn dumb its that MCMC....

Or just use free VPN and get the torrent file then log out. You only need to download the kb sized file to get it to work anyway. Piratebay is just a search engine for torrents.

you know, if they block the announce URL, no use also..

You know that could be a blatant lie because my friends down south, in Korea, Japan, UK, Europe and the States can easily access those sites without any issues.

So if they have not restricted their those sites themselves why did they pressured you instead?

It's like saying look that pile of chocolate on the floor looks tasty and it's a waste to leave it there lying. Why don't you have a taste of it. We already had our lunch so go ahead try it yourself and you really went and tasted it?

The sentiments of special interest groups do not reflect the censorship policies of governments of countries they come from. Besides, they simply call for a curb of piracy in the country, but they never specified how and probably wouldn't care what the repercussions are anyway so long the move benefits them.

Well, the gomen did offer the Aussies land for that rare earth processing facility, as well as the opportunity to dump their asylum seekers here. They've shown to be more or less willing to stoop pretty low in international dealings.

Correct me if I am wrong but since when the FTA, RIAA and MPAA has anything to do with what happens outside their jurisdiction?

Because the members of RIAA & MPAA sell their products here in Malaysia.
So they pressure their government in their FTA with Malaysia.
