Today, 30/05/2011 @ 7pm, I started my pc as usual, turned on my wifi (streamyx combo 1mbps), tried to download a file from megaupload but the page doesn't exist? Tried fileserve to download the same file and went to a blank page as well. I got nervous. I know TM has begun to block many websites this year especially the p**n sites, but will they block hosting sites as well?? To confirm my fear, I used a proxy server and went to megaupload and fileserve. Guess what? I can access them no problem. But the proxy i used won't let me download anything. WTH streamyx???? WTH TM???? How about u guys, did any of u tried megaupload or any hosting site today? So far mediafire, netload still accessible. But for how long???

Edit: Just learned about public dns. Change dns on the router using any of the settings below and abuse your bandwidth again!!!

Just unblock it with this method.

1- go to Network and sharing center
2- then click Change adapter settings (located on left side)
3- right click on your preferred connection (mine is wireless) then select properties.
4- Select "Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" then click properties.
5- select "use the following DNS server addresses"
6- enter "8.8.8.8" as the preferred and "8.8.4.4" as the Alternate.
7- restart the connection and enjoy smile.gif
8- done!

TMNet wont be blocking them for long. Probably will unblock it soon. Otherwise I'm sure they're going to get some unwanted heat.

Enter 192.168.1.1 in the browser's address bar. U have to know the username and password of ur router. Find any settings related to dns and change it.

No wonder. P1, maxis, digi etc all got their bandwidth from tm. Najib said "we will never block or censor the internet". What a bunch of bulls**t!!!

I had use the public DNS since 4 years ago. Enjoy the bandwidth and contents

confirm P1 also blocked fileserve this evening. changed to google dns and it's back.

hope this one only dns block and not hard block like they have on some "ahem" sites.

I fear if everybody knows how to use public dns, and the internet traffic increases these companies will put permanent block to hosting sites. Way to go Malaysia!!!

Looks like P1 clamps down on download sites when they undergo maintenance. Look at their announcements:

Use public DNS doesn't give you high speed, they give you more IP addresses for your requested domain name. Streamyx DNS may have megaupload, fileserve deleted from their directory.

didnt face the problem. yesterday downloading few megaupload file - still able to get ard 230kbps....

Lucky i use proxy when download from megaupload and filesonic using IDM. Got full speed 150++kB/s.

can access, but the speed is 30kbps++ only.. i used to get max speed around 450kbps++ constantly..

4mbps shitmyx connection..

**just tried MU again, the speed is even worse, getting 5~15kbps only.. wtf..
