Want to hear your suggestions on my situation.
I am using Aego2, the Aego M predecessor, but as I tend to play FPS games, I need positioning cues. I bought an USB powered 5.1 headset but the white noise from USB is very irritating, not to mention i have to enable both my soundcard and the onboard sound. The 5.1 headset goes to the soundcard and AegoM takes the onboard sounds, which basically makes AegoM sounds doh.gif

So currently I neither have a satisfactory 5.1 nor 2.1 sound. What would be an elegant but not costly solution?
Get AudioTechnica AD700 and junk Aego2?
Get some logitech 5.1 speakers and junk Aego2?
Try to integrate Aego2/M somehow into a 5.1 system?

Any thoughts welcomed.

tell me where you're gonna junk your aego2.
i'll go pick it up.

if you get a logitech you can make it to 7.2 channel.

if you get an aego m you can make it a 4.2 system.

with 2 subs, get ready for some rumbling. haha.

how about finding out where the white noise comes from?

finally got the R1600T plus.
50-60Hz bass is thin to non existent.
a little bumb in my realtek equalizer fixes this and it copes well.
playing music, it's better than HCS2330 and every other sonic gear i tried.
i would not recommend this speaker unless you have software equalizer available though.

watching videos is a mixed bag kind of experience.
i really do miss the muddy bass of a subwoofer under my table.
mainly because you expect speech comes out of the person's mouth and without any center speakers to balance it out, it sounds weird.
it mixes out ok when you sit further back though.
the bass is not deep enough for explosion booms.
s330 or c3 would be a better all rounder.

using the triangle formation, where the speakers are pointing at me does produce a better sound, but it is too directional. if i move a bit it will be out of balance. so i went full casual and point it straight out from the wall.

the tweeter gave me headaches after long sessions. kinda like when i use head or earphones. it's just me, i can't handle all this sound details. i am now hearing sounds that was never produced on my sonic gear.

you need the speakers close to the wall for better bass reflection.

the amp is great. you can only hear it hums if you press your ear real hard to the wood cabinet of the active speaker.
for music listening it's the best thing you can get for RM270.
add a cheap 2.1 speaker and map it as center speaker and you get a great 3.1 system for movies. haha, i used my sonic gear for this.

Give your speaker some run in, it always sound fatigue when it is new.

I have a quick question, I'm having the SonicGear evo7. I'm planning on getting a SP2500. Is it worth it? also SP2500 vs AegoM?

If you're more into music, then get the Aego M. If you're more into movie or gaming, then get the SP2500.

only 30 hours in foobar.

closer to the wall might give a boomier bass, but a foot away gives a more balance sound.

problem is my a lot of my animu songs sounds like crap. they're in flac, so i guess this is a production quality problem.

also note the woofer size.
corsair is heug and wide.
aego is tall.
see if you have the space for it.

Wanna ask, 1st post recommend edifier M1380, would the M1370 be the same in terms of audio quality? I don't wanna get the m1380 because I don't really need wired controller, I want to minimize desk clutter.

Heh paiseh all you guys talking expensive setups I ask about cheap 2.1 speakers sweat.gif

someone in the edifier thread complained of static noise or humming coming from the 1370.

Could it just be his rig setup? I heard poor shielding will generate lots of static and buzz. My old PC use to have it and is very distinct when use my headphones

yea, most possibly poor shielding.
either that model or that the 1 he's got.

there was this store displaying edifier models.
they left it all powered on with no source.
1 of them humms and it's the cheaper models.

hi

I think the first page price's guide should update....

or anyone got idea where can get aktimate mini @ RM1.9 K?

because digital audio studio listed price for mini+ 2.4K ,and micro 1.8K. Price rise so much is because changed of distributor or what?
*
Ya RM2400 is really overpriced. The good news is DAS just increased the price even further to RM2700.

maybe there is no direct distributor here in malaysia, i believe they got the stock from cd acoustic spore and need to mark-up the price to compensate the cost and whatnot.

After almost 18month being using Edifier C3

and i honestly take back all my claim that Edifier C3 is lacking in bass,

this thing is like a growing girl, last i know her, she look flat, but now, after some intense burn-in, Edifier C3 bass is bigger than mellon, haha

Now i really happy with Edifier C3, but again, the bass is depend on your Eq setting and how good is your sound card is, but to me,
i using onboard MSI sound card with default eq setting, and yet the bass is awesome,

what i do is, set the Windows volume to 50%, then turn up the volume on C3 to your desire loudness(mine is 30), dont know, its sound absurd but its do increase the bass a bit,

my r1600t bass is opening up after 72 hours of use.
don't even have to touch the eq anymore.
