btw any ative 2.0 speaker but with front ported instead of rear within RM2000 to recommend (krk rokit 5)? coz my room size just able give 15~20cm space from table to wall, worry rear ported speaker will become too boomy.

for this price range speaker not worth to get sound card in term of performance/price ratio, turn ur sound card budget into speaker side will gain more improvement compared with changing source.

but if u insist to upgrade ur source, then around RM100 USB dac might is the answer for you.

personally only owned 2 model close to your budget, eacan a600ii and sonicgear a5, a5 offer muddy,loose bass, but it can go loud, just without clarity to my ear, a600ii offer tighter bass compared with a5, but it depend how your place subwoofer, bass go deeper compared a5 and edifier s330, louder than s330 and a5, basically for sound quality it quite good to my ear within RM300~400 just treble not sharp enough, lack of some clarity and detail over it, but still quite good for movie, gaming, and another cons for this speaker is build quality issue, so you gonna go audit yourself.

for s330, it lack of lower mid, vocal quite thin, detail better than eacan a600ii in mid and high, but treble sometime too sharp and harsh to my ear, especially watching movie, or low bitrate rmvb, kind of distortion in treble side can be observe.
this speaker possibly cant meet your requirement for loudness, since it just enough for small room imo, bass go muddy while volume past 1-2 o' clock, slightly distortion of mid/high also occur around 2 o' clock of volume.

and eacan a600ii availability might be a issue for you to get, if u refer first page recommendation clearly get your answer with edifier hcs2330

but i did not audit it b4, hence no comment for it.

because digital audio studio listed price for mini+ 2.4K ,and micro 1.8K. Price rise so much is because changed of distributor or what?

Ya, initially want get its little brother micro, which someone mentioned its price around 1.3~1.5k...but when i want to buy, check the price, found its price raised so much, totally out of my budget.

haiz i emailed them, they do not sell aktimate anymore,

New Aktimate mini+ @ AUS also cost 529 AUD Dollar only..which actually not much difference with old batch mini, but such a big increment in price of micro and mini+

xs book did not come with subwoofer, the one come with is xs 2.1

i did not audit bose yet, but for focal xs book, i think mid, high, vocal, soudstage quite good, but while come to bass department, i no idea is it consider good for its size, since it just 4 inch driver...and before own xs book, i used 2.1 speaker set...since used to be having subwoofer for bass, hence i can sense that bass extension(anything below 60hz) is gone....

good for nearfield listening, did not need to place them very far away with each other like aego m (aego m at least need 2 m -2.5m just sound good to me)
