Is there any difference in the bass or sound quality for the VS4121 silver or black? I think i will try my best to get Altec VS4621...

and btw what you get if the higher RMS for power output?

Silver = old batch (nice perform)

mm... hard to explain...

messy bass like got echo effect (shopping mall PA speaker bass)
clean bass would be something like Headphone Bass

like sometimes one beat
on messy bass the beat will sound more boooom type
while clean ones sounded tight bups (more accurate)

just an example tho, you gotta listen to the real thing to understand sometimes

not really.. cause some player such as PS3, X360, Bluray player, only support audio out through HDMI or optical. so if no optical port no surround sound...

Purpose: Mostly musics, some gaming, some movies.
Environment: Only a small room, teeheehee.
Sound quality: Crisp mid(vocal), average bass (or better, as long it's not mushy)

I have creative gigaworks t20 II in mind. Open for more recommendation.

purpose for movies,trance,dubstep.

for private use, quality is important for me. but for the usage in classroom, i would need the sound to be reasonably clear, and loud enough so that those in the back of the classroom can hear the spoken word clearly. something that is loud enough, i could use a normal cd/radio hifi player but it's heavier and more cumbersome. also can i find track that i need quickly as there would be many, many short tracks thta i have to choose which one to play. however if tere is no fast way to go search for desired track i could just use my mp3 player with the speaker.
