...trial and error see what you like lor...i think box does some scaling too...

old eyes vs young eyes syndrome? biggrin.gif

but true, this "dark should be dark-dark, bright should be bright bright" takes a while to get used to.

i actually find some of the scenes in some videos (e.g. terminator genysis) too dark, had to manually adjust.

one thing out of all that i've been through in the last few years... my 1000 dvd's will have to be given away or junked - becos i will not watch SD anymore. just like i junked a couple of hundred VHS some years ago. that's where my money goes... laugh.gif

...wrong rgb, gamma, contrast settings, etc...

For info if people don't know... Brightness sets the dark point... Contrast sets the brightness, Gamma sets the contrast/grey point, etc... laugh.gif

There's some free calibration videos around if you're interested...after that you can fine tune...

Found this for bedtime reading...

Popcorn 2.9 is an apk, not a zip.

great news for you!

i just discovered... thumbup.gif

q10pro native player comes with a subtitle download feature.

find it under subs option in menu button on remote.

i think the firmware has set and links subs providers online.

for any title during playback, the feature will get a few subs to pop up - the 1st is usually the right one; if not, try the rest; works very fast.

no need to rely on kodi for subs acquisition for files w/o subs.

Discovered something again... biggrin.gif

The subtitle download feature works for popcorn 2.9 too.

Popcorn, set player to himediavideoplayer.

But becos popcorn uses its own code for titles, u need to manually key in the right title for the feature to find the subs.

Works good, subs from opensubtitles, i think.

Note... popcorn 2.9 default does not offer subs, not like old versions.

I just encounter an issue. When the Q10 pro is connected to Yamaha RX-1900 or A2030 with HDMI from himedia to the AVR and HDMI to TV there is totally no sound. Picture is no problem. When connect direct to TV , picture and sound no problem. Tried different cables is still same problem. Had tried many different files from ISO to mkv but problem is the same. Any idea how to fix this ? When use it with Yamaha A3050 there is no problem at all.

My sequence is tv, avr, q10pro.

All on standby usually.

It may be due to the audio setting for diff avr's.

I set... hdmi auto, spdif close, hbr degrade auto.

I had tried to set all auto or raw with different combination is still totally no sound. If I set HDMI to LPCM than got sound. I think is himedia compatible issue

Guys, I have Himedia Q10pro. Any suggestion for awesome launcher for TV? hardly find a good launcher online.

And which file protocol is recommend for me to use with my NAS? NFS or SMB?

And do I need a special 10bit HDMI cable?

IMHO... NFS > SMB...but SMB easier with Windows...

HDMI 2.0 for 4k

I don't understand your question...

I'd just set it up for SMB no need to worry.

i am not sure but i remembered IFLIX does not work on Q16.

IFLIX works on Q10pro.

get it from playstore.

IFLIX now has a very limited selection in HD - they are labeled "HD".

they come out fine on Q10pro, 720 quality, possibly helped by the Imprex engine.

Try it!
