Well, I haven't tried with the remote yet. I just kept on
resetting it by plugging and unplugging the power and hdmi cables, then keep on pressing the power button until "boot" appears on the screen.
This unit is about 2 years plus old.
Do you know which model is good and basic?
*
Err.. U hv never used the remote?

You may hv physically damaged the push button contact by using it too much!

The remote has a power button to start up and power off, with power on standby.

2 yrs is not old. I hv a >3 yr q5ii, just cleaned it up, all is working good.

Also, check your firmware. obsolete corrupted firmware can give startup problems.

The latest and last one I believe is 1.0.9.

New good and basic... I really don't know but take note local sellers do not carry all models. Also, unpopular models can be troublesome for future updates and support. Lastly, as tech improves, newer chipsets replace old ones, there will be a minimum std, e.g. 4K, 3D, hevc265 are now pretty common. Best to check with sellers for what suits u best.

perhaps for just airplay/mirror, there are better alternatives with other kinds of devices.

Personally, I've had a similar one before & don't fancy such.. It feels awkward to hold and won't be easy to manipulate with just one hand.. I prefer a more standard remote look & feel.. Something like this. It's a personal preference.. So depends on yours.. smile.gif

I have to press the power button to boot my Himedia Q5 II player many times lately.  Does anybody know how to fix this problem?
In case I have to replace it, which is the cheapest and basic model?  Because I only use it as an air player nowadays.

I just found the solution accidentally😀 Just power on, wait until the machine becomes hot(leave it and do other things), power off and then on it. Voila.

Ha ha, just replaced the power adaptor, it's all good now😃

Yupp. Used this type before as well. Not very user friendly. Still prefer regular kb and mouse.

A matter preference.. IMO, a wireless keyboard & mouse combo looks out of place in the living/media room. It's all good, as long as ones happy with the performance. nod.gif

However, occasionally i encounter crashes here n there, hope the next update will bring us a more stable firmware.

You can install but unable to play the movies in iflix. It is the same for all Himedia model, I have sent the APK file to Himedia months ago, unfortunately Himedia unable to find any solution so far.

For the time being Minix Neo U1 able to play iflix.

Cheap if u convert direct exchange rate. If buying online, check preinstalled apps, where to get help later.

Q10 pro is currently the rolls royce of Himedia. Will u be able to use it well?
