QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 7 2016, 05:24 PM) now, q10 pro is about to be launched, i think. Yeah couldn't wait, but some beta-tester reported that there 're frame skips n lip sync drift problem with the pre-production unit, not sure with the final product though. pre-orders now taken at some online sites. i quite like the specs already! |

Just bought Sony x85E TV which is 10Bit TV. So on my Himedia Q10 Pro, I 'm trying to change the "Video color space & HDMI deep color" to YCbCr444 10Bit, but it keep on saying it is not supported and revert back to YCbCr422. Anybody know why ?
Also, is YCbCr444 10Bit the best setting for picture quality ? Thanks ! |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 24 2018, 06:10 PM) this rather complex thingy has to do with hdmi version (devices, connections and cables), yr tv, the box base resolution/fps set and the type of video played. Thanks ! Will read through the articles to understand things better. Hope i didnt make the wrong choice purchased this tv.no, ycbcr 444 is not "best" in that most UHD videos are processed with 420, so 444 is of no use. 444 is usually used in static texts. read this, u will understand ycbcr and realted UHD issues better. http://www.acousticfrontiers.com/uhd-101-v2/ btw, yr new tv... nice one... 4k HDR + androidtv. Btw, i managed to set it to ycbcr420 10bit. But after played a hdr movie, the setting reset again. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 24 2018, 07:03 PM) i hope u have good broadband speed. Thats why im desperately waiting for unifi to come to my area. No choice, have to settle with 8MB streamyx for now.high speed internet+ q10/q5 pro + good 4kHDR tv is "lethal"! i.e. u can easily get the largest and best 4k HDR videos; the player can handle easy; the tv will produce the finest results u can get. of course, if u play the lower grades of HDR videos... the box+tv will not deliver their best. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 24 2018, 07:14 PM) 8mbps... it will be awfully hard to get 60 or 90GB videos. Hahaha ... I downloaded a 70GB mkv b4, i will not hesitate to do it again. My q10 pro has been underutilized for too long already. Will try to search for the video. if u hv the chance, get a 2160p 10bit HDR BDMV video or two from a fren and try them. u will not want anything else. |

Just found out that ARC/CEC for Q10 Pro doesn't works n mess up the set up.
Anybody here using non-CEC / CEC-less hdmi adapter ? Where to get one of these ? It a shame that Himedia couldn't fix this. This post has been edited by stormaker: Apr 3 2018, 10:42 AM |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 3 2018, 10:47 AM) Recently I just upgraded my sound system to Yamaha receiver+speakers and everything (PS4 ... etc) connected to the receiver. After set up everything, found out that the ARC /CEC doesn't work no matter what I do n no sound output from TV if I use built in TV apps. Spent hours troubleshoot and finally found out that Q10 Pro mess up the ARC/CEC communication even when its power off. Unplugged it from receiver then everything normal.Currently have to connect optical cable from TV to receiver just for the TV audio (youtube/netflix/iflix ... etc), n everytime have to manually switch audio channel on the receiver. Quick search on internet found that this has been reported years ago and peoples are using the non-CEC/CEC-less adapter or modify the HDMI cable to block Q10 Pro from sending CEC signal that mess up the whole CEC communication. http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=747.0 This post has been edited by stormaker: Apr 3 2018, 11:03 AM |
