The 0% foreign exchange fee with SCB JumpStart isn't a promotion campaign, it's a built-in account benefit that's been reliably good for a few years, though it could change.

Using Maybank 2GoldCard AMEX

Transaction date: 17/3/2024 (Sunday)
Posted: 18/3/2024 (Monday)

SG$142 = RM 512.79

Like this, by right can get 5% CB kan? And I think there's the 2.5% overseas transaction fee...

Hello. I’m travelling to Europe this June. Want to ask the best conversion from MYR to Euro is GXBank or Jumpstart or RHB MCA or Wise or CC(with 2-5% CB)?

Credit card conversion all bad right. Now for most CC the miles collection also becoming not worth it.

Luckily didn't get affected by earthquake.
No I didn't withdraw, changed TWD in KL, just bring enough.
Most local stalls still use notes & coins.

same like wise. zero fees, follow mastercard/visa market rate. On top, other benefit
gxbank - got interest 3% on saving ACC
jumpstart - got 5% cashback on online retail. Max rm 50 for 1k spent

thanks, meaning either 1 of this (gxbank/jumpstart) is better that Wise in term of the exchange rate ya? as i see in Wise, there's a charge if want to deposit into the foreign account balance.

also just to check, we just need to keep RM in this account (gxbank/jumpstart) and then use the debit card for overseas spending right?

thanks

Please stop spreading incorrect information. Wise does charge fees, as explicitly mentioned on their website, and Wise's exchange rate is typically higher than that of Mastercard.

Thanks for the info. Meaning for this year GXBank will be a better option for overseas spending ya? Since the 1.2% is waived till 31/12 as per some posts here.

Also I read that it's better to ask the overseas merchant to charge in their foreign currency instead of converted one ya? Since their conversion rate will always be higher?

Thanks

Yea, based on my experience, like TNG visa card offer 0% foreign currency charges, it is better to charge foreign currency directly, as their merchant conversion rate is always higher than your card.

I see, meaning that TnG visa is also 0% on forex now? so both TnG visa and gxbank will have the same rate?

Ya 0% mark up. TNG is using visa rate while GXbank is using mastercard rate.
