QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 31 2023, 11:15 PM) How good is rhb debit card link to the multicurreny one? I know their exchange rate not bad. RHB rate is better than SCB at least on weekends. Rate on weekdays may differ I think. If you don't have RM3k, you don't get the 5% cashback? Eg today's rate to exchange MYR to USD is RM4.6105 for RHB while Jumpstart is RM4.62. But with RHB the exchange rate will depend on when u exchange the currency, so u may lose or gain depends on movement of currencies. While SCB will do conversion on the day you do your transaction. I keep RHB MCA for monthly savings. And SCB for transactions overseas. |

RHB MCA occasionally outperforms SCB Jumpstart. As for the recent weekends, RHB's rates have been better, due by the MYR strengthening against the USD since the November and the fact that Mastercard freezes the exchange rate from Friday for the entire weekend. So we end up with the less favorable Friday rate, even when the MYR fares better over the weekend. This post has been edited by Steve78: Jan 1 2024, 07:19 PM Ramjade liked this post

QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Jan 3 2024, 08:26 AM) thanks for your info. yes absolutely. free cash withdrawal, and zero charge from Standard Chartered. Most countries, u won't need to pay any fee at all.may i know if i withdraw cash from atm, do sc jumpstart debit give the best rate also for cash withdrawal? thanks again However, as another forumer had mentioned, some countries like Thailand, all Thai ATM charge a THB220 fee to use it, regardless of your card. |

QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Jan 3 2024, 08:26 AM) thanks for your info. Cash withdrawal in THBmay i know if i withdraw cash from atm, do sc jumpstart debit give the best rate also for cash withdrawal? thanks again SCB Jumpstart THB20,000= MYR2696.58 (inclusive of THB 220 ATM charge) RHB MCA THB20,000= MYR2694.00 (inclusive of MYR12 ATM charge) Date of both transactions= 14 Jan 2024 (Sunday) Time: 9AM MYT RHB slightly more competitive than SCB by RM2.58, or 0.1%. MYR to THB conversion in RHB app is done at the same time, before cash withdrawal As Thai ATMs charge withdrawal fee, RHB outperforms SCB. But if you're using the card at an ATM in other countries with no fee, eg Singapore, SCB could possibly beat RHB in cash withdrawal. Just sharing some of my latest transactions overseas
From Maybank PDS: The exchange rate used for the conversion reflects a bundling of (i) currency conversion components of 1.25% imposed by Visa International or Mastercard International (in the case of Visa or Mastercard Credit Cards), (ii) a currency conversion rate of 2.5% imposed by American Express International (in the case of American Express cards), and (ii) 1% or other rate imposed by us from time to time. Transaction No.1 (Morning) 08/01/23 Maybank Visa Signature $26.46 SGD Charged RM 95.16 Visa calculator at 0% fee: RM 93.06 Mark up over visa calculator: 2.26% Transaction No. 2 (Noon) 08/01/23 Maybank Visa Signature $10.80 SGD Charged RM 38.83 Visa calculator at 0% fee: RM 37.98 Mark up over visa calculator: 2.23% This post has been edited by sidefulnes: Feb 2 2024, 10:21 AM |

just to share that since google pay + Wise M'sia can be linked, if u don't mind opening a bank acct in sg, you can just bank in SGD into Wise Sg balance and pay via your phone. withdraw out back to sg acct is FOC (just like local malaysian DuitNow<->ewallet)
this should offer you the best MYRSGD rate since you won't be relying on RHB MCA or scb jumpstart (and also Wise too, since no conversion is done) rates This post has been edited by Medufsaid: Feb 5 2024, 10:52 AM |
