good day guys, so i was preparing for US working trip soon and found out about this foreign transaction charges and got myself a bit mindfk

please enlighten me as MYR - US is pretty bad currently.

i got to know from MBB customer service, my amex/visa admin charges are 2.5 and 2.25% respectively.
then OCBC 1%

but when i read thru the pages here, i noticed that most of the ppl use MBB ? is there something i don't see here?

i just have below card, so if you can help me decide which one to use and which one prepare for emergency only thank you!
1. OCBC (Master and Visa)
2. MBB (Visa and Amex)

Is there any CC's in malaysia that removes the forex fee? Like those USA no foreign tx fee cards, except issued in Malaysia?

cashback also can't cover the fees
think wiser to use BP card overseas

visa infinite is the PBB one?
but isnt it only 1% cb? should be lower than the bank charges even if it has lower forex rate
im actually looking if theres any cc that can cover the bank fees with the cashback / mile conversion / whatever conversion a.k.a best bang for bucks

Conclusion: All these cards advertise zero FX markup, but it's clear that AirAsia Bigpay remains the best card for overseas transaction, MAE the worst

Among all these, my absolute favourite is SCB Jumpstart as it has absolutely zero markup from Mastercard rate and free withdrawal for foreign cash outside of Malaysia. I find this to give the best rate.

RHB Multi Currency is good too, better rate than even Wise. It is just that you need to convert MYR to foreign currency beforehand to make it worthwhile. Transactions in 16 foreign currencies have zero fees, but if you have insufficient balance in foreign currencies, it will deduct Ringgit balance and attract 1% fee.

SCB Jumpstart no need to convert anything, zero fee, it will deduct the ringgit balance at the exact mastercard exchange rate at that time.

When a card has a benefit of No foreign exchange fee, means it is direct exchanged based on ecaxt rate with no mark-up from the bank and visa?

Bigpay now got extra charges. Not worth it.

You qualify for the 5% cashback if your account has a new deposit of RM3,000 in that month, irrespective of how much you spend or your account balance.
BigPay's exchange rates have consistently been poor over the years, even when you don't account for all the additional fees.

I have spent 1000rm online and deposit more than rm3000 in Nov.

anybody tested gxbank against sc jumpstart and rhb multicurrency?

gx should be superior with the 1% cashback

gxbank better as got 1% cashback. dont forget u get 3% pa - daily bank in for saving money inside
SC jumpstart - no 3% pa interest. very low interest if put money inside
