Even for maybank visa the rate is high around 3.78(think convert from won to use then RM).visa website only shows around 3.75-3.76 after adding 1%
Maybank amex rate for won is not much different from visa 3.79

My experience. Most CC charge about 2+% overall (currency rate + charges + whatever). Some card gives 1% rebate for overseas spending so you ended up with 1+%

I have not come across CC that gives 2%. I Would like to know which one does.

AFAIK, for the time being, I don't know of any card better then BP for foreign currency spending. Sometimes slightly more and sometimes slightly less than xe.com so I consider that to be practically the same as xe.com

Maybank 2 card amex give 5% rebate plus X5 point cap at RM1000 spending

i just made 2 payments in pound, 1 on sat and 1 on sun. below here are the conversion rate from bigpay and master card website.

Tx Date Tx Amount (GBP) BigPay Charge (RM) BigPay Rate MasterCard Charge (RM) MasterCard Rate
2018-07-21 124.15 656.39 5.28707 661.76 5.330361
2018-07-22 88.38 468.74 5.30369 471.10 5.330361

I have no idea whats the formula from bigpay on converting GBP to MYR. But it seems lower than the mastercard rate and no admin fee.
*
This is because the date on the BigPay App is the transaction date, the actual exchange rate is based on the posting date of the transaction, which is not showing by BigPay, so we have no idea which day to compare with MasterCard

Just sharing,

Transaction date: 14 Nov 2018
Card used: Hong Leong Visa Debit Card - purchase online using debit card
Payment as confirmed by HLB charged to card (in SGD) : SGD 221.00
Amount charged as in back statement (MYR): RM 946.54

If direct convert, this is very high..
Anyone can enlighten me if otherwise?

Hi Sifu,

Is it better to pay with Maybank Visa compare to Maybank Amex for better rates ? M2C Premier cards

Since overseas transactions (including online I suppose) have 5x TP
