QUOTE(garf @ Apr 29 2016, 12:19 PM) after checked my statement after came back... That's a bit misleading as currency could have fluctuated right after you exchange from Money Changer.in fact, the hsbc rate is better than the money changer rate (i mean the rate i changed money on the particular day la) Usually CC will charge from 1-2.5% admin fee |

Hi guys, I am currently in the UK so am trying to decide on which card to use for best rate. I only have these:
1) Maybank 2 Card AMEX 2) Maybank 2 Card Master 3) UOB One Classic VISA Would anyone be able to advise which one will give provide the best rate? I have checked out the rates shared by members in this thread, seems like AMEX is on the high side? Even the 5X TP doesn't seem to cover it, although some members did comment that it has better rate relatively which is really puzzling. I also saw that Mastercard typically has better currency conversion rate but Maybank seems to be charging 2.25% admin fee for international transaction, while UOB is only chargin 1%. Hi,
I'm traveling to Europe for few months soon, comparing Citibank and HSBC card, Citibank offer 1% and HSBC offer 1.25%, but Citibank mentioned they will covert the spending currency > USD > MYR, and HSBC dint. So if its EUR > USD > MYR converted, i will gonna pay more because its double conversion? Or using USD as medium was actually a standard for every bank? citibank source: https://www.citibank.com.my/english/common/...rges-credit.htm hsbc souce: https://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/personal-bankin...rd-fees-charges p/s Any1 knew any good card to be apply to be use oversea? I'm looking at this 2, which give 1% & 1.2% rebate, meaning if i use this two card oversea, the conversion charge is as good as nothing? https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/HSBC...sterCard-i.html https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/Citi...tinum-Card.html This post has been edited by ragk: Jun 9 2016, 01:21 PM |
