I guess every user has their own preferences for a phone. Some cons a user experience might not be a matter at all to another user and vice versa.

About the good things, engadget already spit it all out .. It is good to hear a different opinion though on SGS2.

did the camera use gorilla glass ?? kind of worry about the lens after reading this ...

The little platform that the camera is raised on is prone to scratches.Laying on a table the phone virtually rests on the camera lens!

C'mon, be FAIR to him too...for someone who has paid 2.8k for that phone,
he is entitled to tell us how he feels about the money he just spent...he has his
expectation when he parted with his money. If those expectation are not met,
he is more than qualified to tell us his observation and feelings...

Pardon me if my opinion may hurt you. Since you're coming from Iphone to Android, IMHO, HTC is the best for you. And when you're in Android zone... only hardcore aka gadget freaks change phone frequently. Normal user usually stick with what they have.

It is not SGS2 rushed to the market but I think it's you coz you only used your IS for a month (correct me if I'm wrong). And the price we paid for today is the early adopter price. It should settle out at 2.3 - 2.6 region in the next couple of months.

What I like about this phone is not out of box experience, but the customization it will provides later...

for this, I may a bit agree with you, HTC phone are powered by their own Sense UI & is seem better than SGS2, but I won't choose HTC because there is still many point where SGS2 won HTC, even both of them are Android.

you may try to discover it, maybe you will love it after you had learn how to use it
try to look at its good side...

I've been obsessing over this phone since Atrix disappointed me with its locked bootloader and Motoblur.
So today I went to the SS15 shop, for the intent to take a glimpse at the phone. I do have my credit card ready though, in case the GS2 will impress me that much
When I arrived at the shop, a guy was playing with the GS2, so I stood behind him and watched him play around.

I was not impressed.

This is just another smartphone. There's nothing special to brag about this phone.
Bland phone appearance.
Dual core? I still detect hints of lag during screen transitions.
Super AMOLED? Ok, the screen looks vibrant, but I usually dim my screens anyway.

I will still get this phone later, but I'm not impressed enough to pay the early adopter's fee.
Heck, I've been using the same phone for more than 5 years, it probably won't hurt to wait a few more weeks.

Impossible, I now holding n8, and I got saw photo taken by some user in picasa web album the led flash color of sgs2 is su*k, the face of people turn greenish & yellowish, this why I ask is it the led flash from sgs2 is yellowish in color, if it is whitish it is ok, but if it is yellowish, it is no use even it is bright...

My verdict of SGS2 compare with it predecessor....

1. If you're running Custom ROM, keep your SGS. SGS2 does not bring any significant speed at the moment. The only advantage is it has big RAM thus moving in and out from applications does not lag the phone just a bit better than Darky Memory tweak on SGS.
2. Games no comment at the moment. Same as SGS coz I do not have game optimize for Mali GPU.

Other than that, if you like the extra .27 inch, flash, never root and full HD then you're welcome to upgrade. The pixels is smooth, kinda remind me of Speedmod.

Why am i the only one giving my impressions on this phone? Im sure there are a few here that got it today. Maybe unlike me, they're too pleased with their purchase.

While im here, lemme just add one more observation/finding. The wifi is weak
compared to my other devices. I'm getting one bar on the SGS where i normally get 3 bars on the ipad/iphone/HTC Incredible.

I have good experience with the Nokia N8, in my opinion its still got the best camera, Carl Zeiss optics and Double Xenon Flash.
I also have used other phones but nothing beats the N8 for its sheer brilliance in photos..
Ones opinion may differ, but i have a DSLR and also a Panasonic LX3 as well, and i leave both of them behind unless the photos call for a longer reach and others.

I think the wifi signal issue persists in most of Samsung phone.
But most of the time it shows 1-2bars but the speed is fast like full bars.
So the important point is the speed, how is the speed when it is only 1 bar compared to your 3 bars idevices?
