QUOTE(buntutwoman @ Apr 23 2011, 10:30 AM) How long is this "quite some time now"??? Added on April 23, 2011, 10:49 am QUOTE(yehlai @ Apr 23 2011, 10:05 AM) WHY would you want the HTC Sensation???HTC's Plus Point :- 1) Resolution : 960x540 vs Samsung's 800x480. But Sammy's Super AMOLED+ has 12 subpixels instead of 8 subpixels in SLCD of HTC. Hence in finer details, HTC only has 7,680x4,320 subpixels compared to Sammy's 9,600x5,760 subpixels. SGS II's Plus Points :- 1) RAM : 1GB vc HTC's 768 MB 2) Thickness : 8.49mm vs HTC's 11.30mm 3) Weight : 116g vc HTC's 148g 4) HSPA+ : 21Mbps vc HTC's 14.4Mbps 5) Front Camera : 2MPixel vs HTC's VGA 6) Battery : 1,650mAh vc HTC's 1,520mAh 7) Internal Memory : 16GB/32GB vs HTC's 1GB 8) Others : WiFi Direct, NFC Chip, DivX Playback...and more! QUOTE(oldKyoo @ Apr 23 2011, 12:54 PM) hmm, I have a very strong feeling this phone will be like iphone 4, alot of idiots will buy alot of them and sell them at a higher price, knowing very well this time supply is way outweighed by the demand. No way SGS II will be as inferior as iPhone 4... If I bought 5 units of iPhone 4 to sell off 4 units to keep my 5th unit free, in SGS II, I will buy a container to make a huge profit....kakakaka!!! |

QUOTE(buntutwoman @ Apr 25 2011, 10:13 AM) Indeed! The Japs and Koreans have their own queer ways to conduct business. QUOTE(buntutwoman @ Apr 25 2011, 10:13 AM) With magnificent hardware and resources available, i still am unable to justify the reasoning behind each launch. If your tagline has always been something for everyone, then you are by far lacking at it. Thanks for reminding us all that it is still a MAGNIFICENT hardware. Please be so kind to tell what kind of reasoning we should seek at this launch, and what were the lackings that we all should watch out for, for the "something for everyone"?? QUOTE(buntutwoman @ Apr 25 2011, 10:13 AM) I've often been amazed by them periodically and though that sense of exhilaration, it was something that could not last nor lust. With the launch of the latest product that you have, you might have done just the exact same as what you did with all the previous galaxy range. You have impressed but not made emotions. Hit THAT to the head of the nail, buntutwoman !!! They lack stamina to engage us on exhilaration senses, right!!! Hehehe...we should add Tongkat Ali for Samsung...Korean ginseng not enough! QUOTE(buntutwoman @ Apr 25 2011, 10:13 AM) I like the SGS 2, but i do not love it. To me, it is just another piece of smartphone that is dispensable and ready to be relinquished from its position. Between the Sensation and the i9100, i'd pick the Sensation only if they rectify some issues which they are highly unlikely to do so. Therefore, having said all that, the bottomline for me will still be the i9100. Thanks for alerting us on that CAVEAT ! Almost miss it ! So the coast is clear for us all to go up to the shore with i9100? Hear ye, hear ye, coast guard has announced the proclamation !!! |

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ May 2 2011, 10:51 PM) Earlier versions of Android looked more like BlackberryOS than iPhone. And the first actual commercial Android came Only after iPhone. The claim states, "Whithout iPhone we might wont have Android"as if "Whithout the son we might wont have the father". The father might not look as cool or as stunning as the son, and could have transformed after seeing the son's coolness, yet it is STILL ridiculous to say, "Without the son, we might not have the father!" Any first year biological student will tell you that, "Without the father, we definitely will not have the son!!!" |

QUOTE(Andrew Lim @ May 2 2011, 11:48 PM) I think what the original claim meant wasn't saying that Android wouldn't exist at all, but definitely not in the form we see it today. Precisely!! Whether it was omission or otherwise,it claimed so clearly, "Whithout iPhone we might wont have Android"... |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 3 2011, 12:17 AM) TRUE, true...that is HTC G1... Android has been around since 2003, way before the first iPhone was launched. So, it was impossible to claim that without iPhone, there won't be Android, which exists before iPhone! Added on May 3, 2011, 12:35 am Another commercial...enjoy!! QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ May 3 2011, 12:41 AM) ^you got it wrong. The android you see today will not exist without the existence of iOS. I'm as much of an Android fan as everyone in this subforum, but I acknowledge the contributions iOS had on the Android platform. I don't intend to disprove I was wrong or prove that I was right here!Nobody can deny iOS popularised multitouch zooming. Beautification of Android also started when people start comparing with iOS. And it's only fair to consider the first commercially available Android device, which is the G1. Even the G1, dare you say it is comparable to the iPhone 2G at that time? Me in support of anti-fanboyism. I would rather go back to history to bring a parallel... Think of airplane, everyone remember the Wright brothers 1903 flight and their subsequent commercialization through its patent in 1906. Yes, that was their US Patent 821393 for a "Flying Machine". Before 1903, there were more than 30 human "flights" with the first was some 120 years before it in 1783 in Paris France. That flight, though on a flying machine balloon, but did not apply for US Patent nor commercialization. It was recorded in history as a flight of 9km in 25 minutes by Joseph-Michel and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier. Nobody can/will deny Wright brothers contribution to the aviation industry. But to say, "Whithout iPhone we might wont have Android" is to say, "Without Wrights, we might not/won't have Montgolfier." Montgolfier existed 120 years before Wright, just like Android existed 4 years before iPhone. Montgolfier's flying balloon machine might not be in the same format/structure/stature as the airplane today, but to say, Without Wright, there is no Montgolfier is definitely not acceptable. We can say, Without Wright, there is no modern day airplane or even no flying machine (as per US patent) then we can say, without iPhone, there might not be smartphone today. I am NOT denying iOS contribution, I just believe the earlier claim was not substantiated factually & historically when we say "Without iPhone we might (not)/ wont have Android". Just my contribution to the forum's discussion. |
