Ah, finally managed to upgrade firmware to Gingerbread!!

Took my unit To Samsung Service and reflashed Froyo 2.2... Did not download any application, just left it as it is (standard as when you purchased it) came home and upgraded to Gingerbread using KIES. Now OS is stable and error free so far. Now, I managed to open my calender menu from the Tab without any error message.

Duration of the upgrade took about 15 mins only... Once I determined that all menus can be opened, only then I proceeded to download applications from Market...

thats mean my set is P1000 + (dx = Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam) + (j = 2010) +pd ??

My friend tried to restore his tab into previous backup
wat he did are he wipe the cache and the dalvic before the restore process using clorkworkmod
after succeed
he restart the tab but the tab stuck at the samsung logo for ever.
btw he also using hermes
any solution

do he need to go back to froyo using odin in download mode to restore back the rom?
only downlod mode is available

finally my tab run on 2.3 update via kies.
i think factor that effect my previous failure is not update kies.so i dowload kies from samsung website.
2ndly, i think my berokband also not too good. so i use wifi stremix at my bapak mertua house.
it just take 10min to upgrade my tab.

so people who still cannot update,plz take note.
update kies or donlod via samsung web-dont use from cd
get high speed network.

dont worry many users in this forum which their tab got new update from kies update to gingerbread dxjpd even when we search through samfirmware that state our country got update to gingerbread code dxjpc.....


u can try flash to new VERSION 3 of the Gingerbread-based stock-safe file from

http://overcome.mimzo.com/?page_id=64

and try follow the step again to install Overcome ROM 2.0.1 Hermes .....

even that dont success u can try refer to 1st page post #5

dont know why.... i think its juz mess up with ur setting when u did recovery.... bcoz it is very good thing when u want to flash with new rom u must factory reset and clear dalvik/cache coz dont want to mess up with the new thing setting..... i juz think so lah......

when i flash my overcome hermes i think it took around 20 till 30 min to finish it 1st boot up...... u try touch ur tab screen....if it got none vibrating it will in his way for 1st boot up.... but if got a lot vibrate,,,, mean ur tab got boot loop.... so be patient 1st ok......

i redo the flash and now it finally went in

hahaha..... its small matter bro.... remember our samsung android if u can go to download mode many thing u can do to survive again ur tab....

if u really want to update fast.... dont put so high hope to our LAME KIES SOFTWARE..... put little effort how to flash ur tab..... when u know that u will never go back to kies coz u will got update a lot faster and better from official kies....

anyway thats all my opinion.....

coz my experience taught me when im waiting for my official froyo update from kies for my sgs..... the 3rd time it success to flash new froyo rom for my sgs..... twice it eat up my broadband data a lot..... how fed up i feel during that time.... after that i learn and learn and when i got i never look back for kies for any update for my tab.....
