Buy the tab if you wish for great portability . Suggest get the 3g/wifi as is a much better performer vs WiFi only model
The eeepad is a different class due to its size

friend, after update the firmware of tab(rooted) but no modded into other ROM la.. still stock. the firmware number is 2.2.1??  build number is froyo zhkc2.. correct?? updated??

emmmmm plz tell us step by step till dis screen come out??? juz pic that can tell a thousand word....

your question too brief. at least give some background what you have done
so back to download mode what did you do after that and what is your tab status now

well, few days back, i heard that ginger out on tab, so i was nothing to do..

plug in my tab, kies mode on, say got updates for my tab, update lor..
follow kies told me to do, unplug with usb mode debug unchecked, i do it, then suddenly can update ok lor.. wait wait, i hear reboot sound,
my tab show the screen i post earlier on.. was downloading.. download wat i dunno...

then download finish edi...

check status firmware was still 2.2.1, i tot shud be 2.3..

then i plug back into kies, no updates edi.. 

I just tried upgrading the firmware to PDA:JPD / PHONE:JPD / CSC:JPD (XME) and the famous error came out.

"Insufficient disk's free space (requires at least 3000 MB)". I got more than that in both my notebook and Tab.

Sigh.. Samsung.. when are you ever going to fix KIES?

I don't think so. The current Galaxy S is on JP versions. For them, Gingerbread is PDA:JV6 / PHONE:JV4 / CSC:JV6. So I doubt JPD would be Gingerbread for us. Just guess coz I can't upgrade with the stupid error message.

Added: I think the JPD is what kokifung installed, which is 2.2.1 and not Gingerbread. It's just a blended Froyo.. sigh.. still have that stupid error message.

have newfirmware at kies but cannot upgrade.try to upgrade,waiting so long but nothing happen.
before this i upgrade my htc desire hd to gingerbread it just take 15min only. but this,40 min nothing happen.

like many others Forumer said KIES IS TERRIBLY SUCK SOFTWARE that many people said how terrible it is.... samsung want to copy like apple itunes but it not success like itunes....

compare to HTC its upgrade through OTA mean u no need use any software or program to update ur phone juz update through ur phone......

however...
if u keep going to try this upgrade from kies take note that any rom upgrade from samsung minimum data rom u need to download around 200MB++....... it will take quite long time to dld that file.....

Download latest kies. If you got any launcher installed like adw or go please go back to samsung original home launcher. Plug in and it will connect and update to gingerbread.

hahaha..... its small matter bro.... remember our samsung android if u can go to download mode many thing u can do to survive again ur tab....  

im glad to hear that ur frenz tab ok now.... 
if u really want to update fast.... dont put so high hope to our LAME KIES SOFTWARE..... put little effort how to flash ur tab..... when u know that u will never go back to kies coz u will got update a lot faster and better from official kies....

anyway thats all my opinion..... 

coz my experience taught me when im waiting for my official froyo update from kies for my sgs..... the 3rd time it success to flash new froyo rom for my sgs..... twice it eat up my broadband data a lot..... how fed up i feel during that time.... after that i learn and learn and when i got i never look back for kies for any update for my tab.....

I don't think the have a service centre in Subang Jaya.

Only original sets are free within the warranty period.

i clicked and prayed HARD. luckily, everything seemed to go smoothly. after about 5 minutes, the installation was complete and now i have gingerbread. yay!

first impression, it does seem much smoother than froyo. i like.

p/s: you need to have at least 3GB in your pc for the installation.

i think the previous post sugegst by forumer worth a try. looks for a high speed internet  + download new version of KIES should able to let you upgrade....if you can, try test at company pc (of cos with permission from your IT) or bring your notebook to starbuck / McD download...

my case was i try using new kies version , run at home not able to detect anything, so i test at company (anyway, is streamyx also...just diff is, company streamyx is  a fix IP and faster a bit). then i able to get the download.... but compare to those 15 min finish all the download...my was consider slow already... it takes me more then 3 hours to upgrade completely...

Since no one wants to help you. Your CSC is TGY which means that it's from Hong Kong so cannot update thru Kies. Only m'sian rom DX with CSC code Xme for m'sia can update thru kies.
