You can break the tutorial if you feel bored, but the tutorial is important as it teach us evry basic things that we need to know in the game. Is there a lots of malaysian in that game?

Nah man, it's very open ended this game. All the new content added and coming is making the game even more open ended. But whatever you do, you must make money - alot of money.

Been playing for 5 months (but I quit 2 times in between). What you want to do as a combat pilot is get a new frigate, train missiles and gunnery skills.
You need to learn some "Learning skills". I'll contact you in game |

Set to auto jump and go and have coffee or toilet break. Pray that nobody put a warp trap on you. (but as long as u r in protected area... u should be ok) - Large ship vs Small ship? Large ship will win...? Nope... this is not the case... its always depends on how u configure your ship. Its well balance like starcraft (protoss vs zerg). Its all about skill. - Communication and selling? Do you still remember how u sell item in other games? U sit there and open a shop and sit there waiting for ppl to buy yourstuff? Well...in this game, they have evoke system. You just set the goods you wan to see, then it will sell (like ebay). Whle the thing been sold, you can go hunting pirate or maintaining your base or mining or researching or building new version of spacecraft... bottomline, you don't have to be there to sell item. - tech support? GREAT! I reported one small bug and its fixed after 1 hours - having a guild but its merely use for see who is online and set exp level? plzz...... with corp, you can build a guild.... become powerful then ppl will start ally with you (but they need to pay monthly fees to you to maintain the relationship) what is the point of having alliance when you gain nothing? you can set secuarity officer to ensure who is the right person for a particular stuff. - Guild master seem to be the king of his guild? Well... in this game... its not the case... the ceo need to have the vote from the director for major events like war. This is so far what I have experience and I'm going to continue this game. the story line is depends on how hardworking you are on your mission. It's a random mission (with high ISK payment). Its not that important but it will determine how other agent place their quality job to u

hello all...
well, i played this game when it first launched in UK two years ago (mid 2003), bought the game when i was in London. I spent about 4 months+ in it, doing missions, pirate-hunting, mining and hauling for the Corporation i was in. My character had about 2.3mil Skill Points when i left. Left because the server was still quite buggy back then, lots of character stuck situations and cannot log-in for days. So, i moved on to SWG when it came out, rest is history..Two years on and this game is still going strong it seems and looking even better with the Exodus patch and the new Cold War content patch.  So, i have just reactivated my account and started playing the game again. Feel free to convo me in-game, name same as my nick : Teddy Rocky Cheers! |

well i was a member of Black Flame Corp when in 14 days trial period. but the corp needed some space for new member, so i told the leader he can kick me out. well i will be joining back at the end of this month, can't wait for it.
commorant is good looking ship but my current configuration firepower and capability(1 missile slot) is only little better than my merlin which i love. anyway if a ship don't have missile laucher armed with defender, how can it protect from being hit by missile? |

How? well, Mol.. it is possible to sell those illegal goods as long as the station you are selling to does not belong to the faction that has a 'Ban' on those goods..the Spirits in your case are banned by the Amarr corparation stations at the top of the buying list on the Market view. Look further down the list and find any non-Amarr station and you should be able to sell it to them..  it would be wise not to trade in illegal goods, because the penalty for getting caught by Customs is very high - unless you are absolutely sure that you wouldn't run into any of them on your route.. what is custom? i never seen them before... oh yeah... i would like to extend any brave fighter for eve to join us for battle on lvl 2 rat....if you have frigate-->destroyer class ship, you can join in. We have lost 2 destroyer while testing out. |

well it's possible to navigate through below 0.5 system but watch the local chat channel. ususally it gives hints about rat camping at the gate. never experience pvp battle but have participate in fleet gate camping for hunting player rat.

I will be running the 'Empire Operations' division of the Celestial Order. It isn't really be that big a deal that we stay completely secret because in the long run, the idea is to rejoin our parent company of veteran players. For now what I need is a team of 4 to 5 people to join me in creating the industrial core of this great Malaysian based MMORPG guild on EVE Online. I am looking for fresh newbies over experienced EVE players. For the initial period I will be focused on the newbie basics. If you are Vet that wants to join up, I certainly will welcome you as long as you understand we won't be PvPing in deep space on the first day. I will set you out with a Trial account and get you started. To save my time and yours, here is what I am looking for in my fellow players. 1) Credit Card Sorry. At USD 14.95 per month, EVE is a pay to play game. If you can't pay for it, you will neccesarily have to stop playing in 14 days. I will still get you a trial account if you really want to go ahead. I would LOVE to have you join us no matter what. Just please do me the favour of informing me that you will not be sticking around for the long run. I really want to focus my attention on the people that will, as I plan to invest a substantial amount of RL time and in-game assets on this team. 2) Patience. Please understand that EVE is a game that requires a LOT of patience for you to enjoy it. The first thing you will realise if you try the game is that the tutorial is LONG and BORING. I nearly gave up this game before I started because of the damn tutorial. It took me just under four hours! However, in the long run it has really been worth it. The tutorial is also is a great way to pick up the people that have the patience for EVE, and those that do not. After I get you the trial account, please do the tutorial. I am going to spend a lot of my time on you over the following 14 days, so please show me that you are willing to take steps on your own. 3) Demographic While I don't mean to marginalise anyone here, I would prefer to work with mature working malysian adults that play after dinner time. This a guideline, not a restriction. There is a 16 year old in my Guild Wars guild that is a little old man and is probably more mature than I am! If he wasn't doing his SPM in 60 days I'd love to have him. Also, the corp is not going to be restricted to Malaysians so we will be using English as our main language. Finally, I am sorry if this sounds like more of a put off than a turn on to a lot of you. It's just for the best for everyone that I be clear up front what I am looking for. I am willing to lead, but I am not willing to your eternal hand holder. You must be self deterministic. If we can get a team of 4 to 5 people that are like minded, it will be fun and profit for all! well my equipment is like this
high: 5 heavy missile (max range currently is 50km) med: 1 thermal and 1 em shield hardener, 1 sensor booster, 1 shield booster low: 1 co-processor, 1 backup array well i could pull of the processor if equip all my heavy-missile with malkuth type. low on cpu power now but it adequate for 0.4 guristas outpost. what do you think? |

SBZ, Just my opinion, you should have at least 1 standard missile launcher - 2 is even better. Standard missile launchers can take out frigates better than heavy missiles and is much more cost effective.
Also consider replacing the CO-Processor with a Warp Core Stabalizer (WCSt). A WCSt is a power of 1, it protects you fromthe long range Warp Core Scramblers (WCSc) - which is a power of 1. A short rance WCSc is a power of 2. For medium, consider a : 'Benefactor' 1 Ward Reconstructor (Increases shield recharge by 11.5% Consider a Target Painter 1 - It allows your missiles to deal full damage at long range by making the enemy's signature radius bigger. Heavy missiles dont actually 'hit' frigates, they just explode near them dealing little damage. Edit: I forgot to mention why I suggest WCSt's - it is because you are hunting in 0.4 zone - which leaves you open to player pirates. They will stop you from warping and demand a ransom. Hi I am new to the game as well, just started 2 days back ...doing some missions and finally doin mining now.. then I saw somethin really disturbing.
I was in a 0.8 security solar sys looking for good roids to mine ..settled on a nice field of pyroxenes..then I saw this whole fleet of ORE mining barges about 7 of them escorted by 1 battleship by the name of georgeyoung warped into the area..that battleship came so frickin close to me it's as if it's tryin to scare me off but I just went on minin. I was kinda hopin it shoot me just *once* though ....and that all their minin ship names sound really Chinese (actually it is) like CHAOCHAO, CHUCHU, ZHONGMENG, FENGFENG. What's worse is that they all belong to the same NPC corp (newbie corp), all either 25 or 29 days old (nothing else), all Caldari Deitric, and does hyper jumpin together at almost the same time within a time frame of 5 seconds. It just took them about approx 1.5-2 hours to stripmine the roid belt I am in earlier. Is it just me or someone's doing mass strip mining across the galaxy using some Godlike macro ? u have to pay attention on the security, since every solar sys have different type. thats why u need to join corp, so at least someone will guide u thorughout the game. carefull when u enter gate, coz someone might wait for u there

like i said before, just play around with agent first until u get the basic concept of the game. if u wan to master it faster, go to forum and read some guide for new player.
another fast way by joining corp. i'm sure u are able to see many empty container in the space that advertising his corp. work for him, and get some free stuff and guide from him. |

hmm.. looks like there's interest in this game by malaysians.. whole gameplay is great actually.. downside of this is it brings out the "dark side" of some people.. best resources are found in low sec areas.. but after getting myself blown up twice there... (1st time was my Moa got blown up with no insurance coverage... and then pod-killed by some wacko who didn't even gave me a chance to negeotiate anything..). Have about 1.1 mil skil points there.. 30 million worth of equips with Sangramor.. and my beloved ferox..

Well currently monthly they charge me RM56 using credit card and it was more in the first month. Well the card is not mine but i pay to him for the cost. Call that card lending. Well in the game i currently based at tunttaras, 2 jump from jita. Only met Phoenix Red for now. He's from Sabah. He's great but he's not my corp so only hope to see him again. Well i'm in The Black Flame corp. Our corp is shrinking and most welcome anyone new or long time player of eve to join us. Doesnt matter he's on trial or paying account.
Well the corp offer guidance to get you going and we do occasionally corp ops such as mining and pvp. Well i'm there after 9-11pm local time. so feel free to pm me or make an application to join us. If you were to rejoin EVE, you can meet up with a few active & endangered Malaysians (included me) in the chat room "Kopitiam" located in the Player Channels.
As for a Malaysian corp, there's none, to my knowledge. Hope to see more Malaysians in EVE. |

Each Empire's got their own sovereign space, which consisted of Regions, then Constellations, then Solar Systems, and finally where the actions are: stations, planets (for the moment just for eye candy), moons, asteroid belts, Deadspace Complexes, and etc.
Informations about market, escrow, and such is limited to the region you're in. And each region has their own economy. Every corps would want to conquer a region's (or more) economy and mining. In EVE, ISK (monetary value in EVE) which equal to power. Follow the links as the guy can explain it better than me: The Uber Drake of Space You'll want to be near your corp's HQ, to join their activities and help each other. The corp's HQ may in another Empire or region. Maybe you have your own prefered region somehow, which mean you'll need to travel far to get together with your corp's mate. Usually economy are focused in high security space (1.0 to 0.5, where there's protection from the space police, Concord), since most of EVE inhabitants are here. In low security (0.4 to 0.0), it's about mining, since rarer minerals are only available here. This is where dog eats dog holds meaning. Don't worry about NPC pirates (we call them rats, to differentiate them from player pirates), you'll only need to worry about player pirates. Ruthless or merciful kind of pirates, your luck lor... Powerfull Corps or Alliances have taken their share most of low security space, with their own Privately Owned Station (POS) in a Solar System, to facilitate their activities. Planning to go come back to EVE in feb if i can get the timecard. Looking for a corp to join.. preferably a malaysian corp. Dun wanna sacrifice my precious sleep over some game.
I had a pretty solid char.. but after thinking it through, it's kinda like a jack of all trade and master of none.. so gonna remake another char. Not too sure what to specialise in this time. Most likely will be in management and production, though trading sounds fun. Hope to see you guys in game |

Hmm... played the game so far and i think this game is a huuuggeee timesink.
The skill setup ensure that it will take ages to level in skill, and creating a new character would be a hassle to learn the skills all over again. |

Well, I like EVE partly because of it's skill training system. While the training is done background, I can do whatever I want, be it mission running (equal to questing?), hunting, mining, trading, courier (legal and illegally
), and some other activities.I'm way too tired to grind to level up as of typical MMO are, whatever their setting may be i.e. Fantasy, Sci-fi, etc. It's a trade off of some sort. My skills are improved over time and I don't need to hack'n'slash to gain experience, repetitively day in and day out. It's undeniably it takes time to train skills, but only those skills of high level and advanced skills. Well, I'm going to level up the skills, sooner or later, except I'm taking it easy and doing something that I want to do. Usually new characters are for specialization. well have u read the short story of eve. the title is theodicy which is the newest i presume. there is one faction that is more powerful than jovian and powerful even their ship can teleport without using jumpgates, wormholes. and its the only way to detect them which otherwise invisible like the jovian. i suggest u all read it. its 3 part short story that i recommend to eve-players.

dice macross got lotsa malaysian player there and sangramor mandur is CEO of that corp. well me still in my old trusty corp the black flame. only playing after work so you won't see me much in weekdays.
for all eve-players, its recommended to install goteamspeak at your comp to convo using mic. which is easier and better for pvp so the leader just speak the command rather than typing it. u all can download at www.goteamspeak.com. any corp that gonna join Commonwealth Navy please do so. see you all around. |

.well currently the black flame are open for recruits. at first this corp was founded by CrouchieUK which then a noob recruited me and a lot player from anywhere of the world. after an incident, the original CEO quit and join another corp which we do contact each other still. the current CEO is Jade Badger which a UK player and its our 3rd CEO which he takes unwillingly . We got player from Korea, Malaysia(me), Australia, Europe, and states player. well the member that is active are not that much but can be crowded in the weekend. we got member who mission runner, miner, macro killer, loot thieves but no researcher.the corp now have access of 0.0 and in Commonwealth Alliance <CCC> which now based in Immensia region. well after the attack of IAC in g-7wuf which witness the POS tbf going boom!!, our new POS haven't been planted there yet which already bought for some time ago. Currently IAC are friendly to us and we do some raids together with them and also ISS alliance to hunt Curse Coalition <CC>, Priory and some others. The 0.0 is tend for players already bored with mission and willing to do PvP and still make some cash. The corp are running these kind of policy: 1) Do what u want 2) Come to 0.0 when u ready (Well currently only me and the CEO are there, even him jump clone to empire to mission always, leaves me alone )3) Was doing some corp mining before, but not lately since the member are having varied time. for interested player or noob, please make an application at our office and state your description so i know your're coming. the location can be found at our corp info: The Black Flame. |

THe LEarning is quite long but you really interest to hear till finish.. anyway.. i could say all the tutorial are used all the time throughout the game..so if can..dont miss a thing. great game and im oficially addicted. anyway.. try to get 5.1 system.. although they dint mention it(or i dint find it) the game support 5.1 surround.. can really know when the enemy shoot from your back. |

Took a long while to log on.... I thought I had connection problems but it was just Streamyx being real slow. Finally managed to get on, and started the tute. Got to the point where I had to wait for a pirate ship to come by to get the key to progress to the next deadspace, but the pirates really take their time to respawn.
In the meantime, while sitting there, I got what sounded like a very homosexual request. It was a "would you like to cruise wif me?" followed by a question pertaining to my sexual orientation. I decided to call it a night cos it was late, I had to work and the request to join a gang with the abovementioned person was fairly awkward. And I also had a n00b steal a container from me after I nailed a rat. His name was blinking red, but I decided it was wise not to take action... Should I have blown him apart? Game name: Roland San, Caldari and in some State War corp. Looking forward to joining up with some Malaysians that won't ask me awkward questions |

Hello again to the bunch of you I met last night.
Finished the tute, and after Red and QA and all logged off, continued for a while with some fedex missions, and bought a Bantam. Two succesive CTDs ended my session, and it was quite late too, which is why I'm paying the price today. Gonna check up on the CTD-Audigy problem. Might be logging on a bit later tonight, gotta layan the gf first. She doesn't know about Eve, and I think it's best not to tell her... yet |

Aiyoh, Eve was lagging like heck for me last night. Opening any of the side windows, or item windows, took a minute minimum. Market took 5 mins to open up. After a while give up already.
Seems like Streamyx not happy with Eve. LYN loaded fast, as with other sites. Hopefully tonight will be speedy |

WTF!!!! just accept a mission trying fit my ship for angel mission n then boom ..... booted .... try reconnect can see 19k ppl on try n try n try then say proxy not connected ....

me 2 having same problem, but i suspect its our packet route at fault here. running a command at prompt "tracert 87.237.38.200". after 1 hop request timeout. and it stays that way to 30hops which was set max. some router that usually send our packet to the server are down TOTALLLY (which i think nearby since its only 1 hop)...... but dunno if other experience the same thing.
its certainly not a good thing. Is other ppl okay? |

I lost my first ship last night. My Cormorant. Taken out by an storyline mish entity... ummm... a couple of flameburst spewing Merc Fighters. They were hitting me from about just under 30 km out.
At first I was a bit overconfident. I warped in about 10k from them and I thought, hey no prob, I've never had my armour scratched yet. But the missiles came in, and I couldn't outrun or kill them fast enough. When I was taking armour damage, I figured it was time to warp out. However, was about a second too slow warping out, and just as I had aligned and built up the warp meter, the last missile came in and next thing I knew, I was in a pod... Losing ships is painful... Part of life, I guess. The plat insurance bought me a new one, but I lost tonight's and last night's mission isk that I've been saving up to fit out the Caracel that's sitting in the station doing nothing.Anyway, before I got blown up I left a bookmark (maybe if i didn't i could've made the warp...), and I went back and slapped some active thermal tanking, and came back and showed them who's boss (from 40km out with 5 150mm Scout railguns lah). Pity I've put so much time into gunnery skills. Now I'm beefing up my missile skills so I can use the Caracel to hit with assault launchers and lights around 45-50km out hopefully, and a lot more with heavys. Beefing up on shield skills, too. I dun wan to get caught pants down again. |

well in missioning, tanking is more important than anything else. tank right and you have the right ship (u must not bring tech 1 frigate to lvl 4 mission would you
) u will able to succeed with no major damage or none at all. so knowing your enemy is cruicial. maybe some of our veteran mission runner can point to a site that contains lotsa this. and remember to insure your ship when missioning or whatever you do. |

for those who new to mish runner or even uncle like me first thing is;
a) warp in b) align for exit first c) then start shooting even with right tank or for vet mish runner u shuld always follow step b: cause if u kena web that means u turn slower for alignment out which will mean a matter of kena pop or not.... i lost a few ravens cause couldnt turn in time to warp out so go in n align first no matter wat. align can warp out in a few secs; turn n align to warp will take u 20-30 secs minimum n tats a long time especially in bs or bc class ships also "KNOW THY ENEMY" = www.eveinfo.com This post has been edited by Phoenix Red: May 29 2006, 02:38 PM |

I spent the past few days training Tactical Shield Manipulation (Rank 4) to lvl 4 just to do the Shield Compensation skills and they're changing it NOW???? Aiyoh... |

The connection to eve also kinda buggy these days.
I had a big issue with the game recently when i do my trading routes, tried to sell some polytextiles in that station, where market shows there's a buyer there that would buy for 400isk per piece, and yet i get a buyer from 4 systems away willing buying at 50isk each!! Is that a bug or some random part of eve that i didn't know about? |

Finally, i found the malaysian connection in EVE. Been trawling the net to get some info on any malaysian eve players.
Anyways, hello everyone !!!! Zahn Deteis (eve nick)here. im a malaysian working in australia since sept 05. found out about eve late mar 06 and MAN - THE game that i have been waiting for. always wanted a game that could combine the elements of star wars rebellion, freespace 2 and star trek and of course with a good lore behind it. Also the learning curve is really steep ... then once u finish the tutorials u will get some mission running to start off ... which u dont really have to do if u got other plans for your toon in mind ie not PVE ... mining, trading, pirating, n the list goes on.... best bet join a corp since u will get a lot of advice n support (make sure its a good size corp..joining a 2 man corp will bored u to death) ... oh btw make sure its a active corp or one that suits ur toon path i can drone on forever so i cut this short go to kopitiam channel n we can drown u with advice anyways nice seeing u |

i agree about the joining of a corp suggestion - because my eveperience shot up positive side when i joined this OZ corp. mining ops with 12 ppl in a belt is definitely a must for any noob miner.
so far i have concentrated my skills towards being an uber miner. this is simply because it gives the biggest buck for the time spent in eve. being able to only play a max of 2 hrs on a weekday forced me to do that (family, work and all). maybe when i can fly my covetor and can build my own ferox then hey ill meet up with some of u in 0.0 space - hehe provided i have security clearance that is. anyways, my corp mates (and eve online) recommended this software EVEMON. http://evemon.evercrest.com - software is superb for managing and planning your toon skills. |

I dun like the idea of giving out passwords to third party programs, regardless of apparent legitimacy. You never know.
I use Quikfit a lot, cos it's offline and does all the nasty calculations for me. Ok I'm heading to Bali tmr, will be back Wed 14th. |

Nobody to save me last night when my Caracel kena whack until armor half gone. Lucky I kill the bugger fast enough. Otherwise where to hide my face, kena pwn by NPC frig (with a bloody fast recharging passive shield tank). Got skills for Ferox already. Also got isk to buy. The next week gonna be fun fun fun |

Bleh eve down for 6 hours..... when eve is down got nothing to do
roland, at least u survive... this morning my first ever cruiser, my maller, tak sampai 9 hours old, already explode killed by stupid level 2 mish minmatar stabbers They orbit at 30km. my guns can only hit at 5km range .... Aih at least i got a new ship from my corp and i learned my lesson to fit long range lasers, gonna pwn back those stabbers once eve comes online. |

Tech Secrets, right? Dunno about you, but I like the safety of sniping with rails from distance, but I'm leaning very much right now on long-range missiling. No falloff, no cap drain. I likey. But as Ache says, speed mod essential. However, when you encounter NPCs with webbers, how? Funny last night, when everyone logged back on after the update and gates were closing all over the place. Couldn't tahan playing with that kinda lag. So I've decided to bite the bullet and push up my learning skills to lvl 5 so I can buy the advanced set. 6+ days each... |

if got webbing npc.....kill it first or use drones...... concentrate on it since the frigs still there, no way you can catch that stabber which already fast cruiser. since maller don't have drone bay, web that frigs and fry em with that pulse of yours.
for the lag and stargate closing in various part, its always be like that after big patch. dunno why this one fall for that kind of patch i don't know. expect it to last 24 hours or so. |

Haha, yup Tech secrets part 3. Those stabbers fly at around 400+ m/s , my ship with ABs on also max reach 350! How to reach them..... My new maller now change to all beam lasers... but even with longest range crystals also 16km optimal with 4km falloff.. haih
Maybe i should learn to equip MWDs, but that'll really kill my cap... |

i forgot something, what crystal u use? because bring several crystal which one for long range, medium range, and short range each. since laser swap crystal fast u should utilise this advantage to compensate optimal and fall off. this is amarr player style or trait.

retired from WoW and was recommended by my fren to EVE when talking about the upcoming Darkstar One, privateer-like game. So do some reading.
The gameplay seem not bad.. i like the idea of able to hurt other corporation and the cost of dying which is absent in WoW. Give u thrill and suspense. After reading for few days, i still have some confusion, 1. Can i jump profession easily? Say I start to be a miner so i focus on mining skill, then later on i want to train my gunnery and become fighter, is tat okay? 2. Is joining a corporation rili crucial in further advance ur career and character? 3. U lost the ship if it get destroyed.. i like it. But will it make the game hard coz u lose all ur mods and ship? Coz i die thousand of times in WoW due to PVP.. lol.. 4. Wat is the ultimate goal? Is there an ultimate storyline or just get a corp out and be the richesh biggest most influencial corp? 5. So wat you do daily mostly? 6. I read about mission, can we do mission in group or only solo? 7. Is the server stable after so many years? 8. How come Gamespot rate it 6++ score only...? Thanks.2) Its not crucial but its worth every effort to join a player run corp (u start off in npc corp) more advice, equipment, help etc. 3) Losing ships are part of life in eve....be it PvP or PvE...even trading n mining can get u blown up ) I lost many a ships ..... 4) Not sure about my own goals... join a player run corp n they have goals as for me i run a 2-man corp mostly PvE .... other bigger corps have bigger ambitions like owning their own systems, etc.. EVE is really open ended.. basically its up to u...hehehe u can be a pirate if u want 5) Me PvE n building ships for sale .... Its up to you basically... i can PvE one day go mining the next go building ships the day after.....n on n on n on... its up to you 6) Missions aka PvE theres lvl1-4 atm 1 being the easiest......lvl5 is there but not open yet Missions u can do solo or in gang (in gang u share the bounty) try solo n if u cant hack it go to local chat n scream for help form a gang n waste those rats...7) Server is stable ... everyday dt at malaysian time 7pm till 8pm .... patches take longer n we are inform early on... though occasional crash... not frequent though 8) Sorry i dont read or surf gamespot.... cause its all about your personal preferences not some game reviewer's idea... maybe he like FPS or RTS.... Additional: take a 14D trial n join kopitiam channel ..... that way u can get more advice... but its a mature game...n a game that needs lots of patience.... btw 14d trial u wont xp EVE at all....wait till u get ur first navy issue battleship ..... that takes longer then 14D i can go on n on but best u try it out yourself first....as i said before its all about your preferencesBTW did i got booted out of eve n cant get back...any1 got same problem today? |

1. about the skill, since training time is only needed to advance your skill, isn't it easy for every one to max out all skills after a given time (maybe a year) then he can be jack-of-all-trade? 2. your definition of PvE is you embark on repetitive nature mission to earn bounty, do your crafting/selling to earn money, mining, daily so you can outfit your ship with bigger mods? thanks, i'm aware of the 14days trial and intended to get that for a try. just waiting to upgrade my PC now before starting. |

idope: what rig do u have at the moment? my pc which is p4 2.8ghz with Geforce FX5200 can handle the game well enough, although massive fleet battles (although i havent joined one before) i think i will need to turn off special effects...
exshige: a year is not enough to even max out all the skills, even few years also not enough.... its best to specialise although many ppl learn a variety of skills so that its not so boring and u can shift from fighting to mining or whatever whenever u want. Hope you don't mind my long list of question.. Thanks.You can specialize, mix-n-match or be Jack-of-all-trade if you want. Just plan out what skills you'll need for your career(s). Like me, as a Mission Runner and small part-time Miner, have a lot of combat related skills and least of (useful) mining skills. And there's chances you might not like the career you had in mind you would like it to be and want to try other careers. That won't hurt you much to train other skills, it's just that you'll spend the ISK (EVE monetory) on the skill books and don't train too much on it. 2. Corps could be solely a mining/manufacturing corp, PvE corp, PvP corp, pirate corp, or mixed. Join a corp if you want more interactions, such as chatting , corp activities/operations (mining, mission, complexes, ratting, gatecamping(PvP only), etc), or access to 0.0 space (not that you can't go in alone, but you'll end up dead sooner either in neutral or Alliance owned).3. There're chances you can recover some mods and your cargo, well only in PvE. There's very little or no chance in that in PvP Yeah, it's hard, but you get to insure your ship though. Wow, surprised to discover M'sians even play Eve. I thot I was the only one. Seems like everyone in M'sia plays Maple Story or Dota
Anyway, I've been on Eve almost two months though I must say it is becoming boring for me. I trained up mining to level V so that is what I do mainly. NPCs are no longer a challenge now in 0.5 and higher regions. Missions are still mainly Fedex or kill no-challenge NPCs. I rarely venture into low-sec tho, and anyway I'm not into PvP. Its much more fun when u join a corp, as u wont be alone all the time and u can do some team stuff like group mining or group running complex/level 4 missions....
And yes, get out of empire for more money and some nice pvp fun! |

some 200ms and 400ms bro. but eve is not that response critical so its still playable even at 400ms. try thinking that it still can play using 56k modem. strange is it not? i think there's not be a major problem there. happy playing and see you in Kopitiam channel. i'm usually online after downtime which schedule daily between 7-8pm local.

I have no idea wat all this trace ping thing route is....
but its still playable even on 56kbps modem (hence u will see me going for online games that support 56kpbs and above) but glad to see so many new faces in kopitiam n EVE .... the "rednecks" are mostly pvers of sorts....carebears u can say .... but then theres always jumpclones around.....we look to guide newbs in pve...those who want pvp.... wat can i say its a brutal place EVE. just ready a big fat wallet for an extended stay in low sec or 0.0 (hehehe i think its safer in 0.0 alliance space then those 0.4-0.1 sec status) I've been away ill for last few weeks n hopefully will be on longer (though my wife gives me hell is i stay up late nowadays hence u can see me more often in afternoons then at night) CYA in EVE Kopitiam chat .... I played daoc and recently try to play EVE coz i like the privateer/freelancer kind of setting.
I enjoy pvp mostly and thus I plan to play in pvp when i can support that. However, I plan to play as pirates as well using the second character to get the exp of playing at the darkside. It will be fun. |

Ok so ANyways i wanna buy this game (next month when my ambank goes up (prepaid)) but then again i can only play weekends... which totally and awfully sucks... but when holiday starts its game time... also since i can only play 2 days a week a with skills not auto renewing hows it gonna work for me? one skill can start 2 days (start sunday end tuesday) im gonna be stuck 3 days of no skill ups
but eh so is it gonna be worth it? i did the trial no lagg (which totally rocks and all) but i dunno 2 days a week |

Train next long training skill. Since your character will be inactive most of the week, that person might find it useful to have your character haul or mine, and give you a percentage of the profits, while their main goes and does something else. Kinda like character rental. Ah the joy of being able to run 2 Eve windows at once on a computer... And smartbomb vs drones ftw. Indiscriminate weapon: don't detonate in range of friendly structures/objects, or it'll be ftl. |

First & foremost never give someone ur password to change skills or watever...unless u know him in RL so u can knock him around with a baseball bat.
Second to kill drones unleash by players SB = smartbomb them (use at ur own risk) or if a mission drones (PVE) use EM type damage on them... but be aware some if not most drones in PVE orbits above 5km (effective SB range 5km..unless u got named SB) n SB eats caps like no tomorrow......mostly i use my own drones on drones or missiles them to death Third moon mining is totally different thing from belt mining.... u probe scan n see wat the moon yields..then setup a POS to moon mine wat reactions the moon gives .... they yield stuff that u combine with other stuff from other moon to form reactions which in turn reacts with other things to create complex things ..blah blah.... n oh btw only 1 POS per moon. It mostly takes place in 0.0 in alliance space n if u go in alone u wont last long... n did i mention starting a POS also requires u to feed it with Ice thingies which mean ice harvesting n hauling it thru alot of low sec or 0.0 space where u can n might n will get pop n pod sooner or later.....the returns varies on wat reactions u get... Artifacts i think are thingies u can get from COSMOS missions...which are pretty tough n requires skills like hacking n archaelology got nothing to do with moon mining And no its not possible to have a kopitiam corp since say u got a big corp (all malaysians) n we own a 0.0 system n got POS there but we go to bed .... n guess wat the next morning we wake up to find our POS gone n in place an AMERICAN corp POS..... tats why most alliance got ppl from all timezones....unless ur kopitiam corp is like me stay in empire space n do PVE. Also because there are 4 races in eve scattered thru many empire systems so its pretty hard to get every1 in one region..... I'm cutting this short cause i could go on forever in more clarity for the issues above but i'm a lazy git so u can login EVE go kopitiam chat n ask us there |

red, the server crashing lately because the senior staff is on 5 weeks summer holiday and the problems are stacking way up the junior staff to handle. this i got from a player who is also an eve server admin.
just in luck found him in providence. but the staff holiday almost in the end so it will be cool |

they're cutting support for win98 and the other OS is a good move in terms of troubleshooting the codes coz the human resources will be siphoned off to support win2000 and xp. plus theres the development issues.
down the road it will help alot coz devs will get to focus on a few OSes rather than several with each having different frameworks, approaches and shit. furthermore microsoft already said they will no longer support those old OSes so lets say CCP has a problem, they cant ask microsift for help anymore. so why the head ache? just stop supporting them also will solve the problems. but its a double-edged sword. mainly bcoz some customers may not want to upgrade their OSes and abandon EVE entirely (god forbid). every new line of codes will bring with them new problems and bugs. so prepare for some shitty bugs to creep out. the programmer has spoken |

Zahn, most ppl anticipate some of this nonsense and set multi-day skills just in case. In the meantime, I've been playing the new Hitman... Somehow sneaking around killing people doesn't quite cut it a much as wiping out a Guri battle fleet. |

yea its been known to happen pirates ganking in high sec ..... normally they scan passing ships to see whether its worth it.....i guess dan's itty V with its local hul mods n large quantity of robotics warrant it.....
but theres not much u can do abt it ... i know some ppl who goes in suicide kessies gang who goes around blasting macro miners barges (that i dont mind) but dan case isnt the first n wont be the last...so dan go get an obelisk ) |

My corp, Provenance Security and another corp, Eternal Vendetta Enterprises have been following up on the ganking activities in and around Jita for the past month. We already identified some of the perpetrators and their modus operandi. The bastards who are most active are those in the CVTEC corp. They hang around high sec systems and identify potential targets especially those in indies. They then follow these targets until low sec systems where their other members would be waiting. The other group is actually guessing the next route that their targets will go so if you are lucky then you'll probably won't encounter them at all if they guessed wrong. well not really sure abt those other places but sure is Jita system got them pirates ... since Jita got high volume traffic thats where they would operate from...Sobaseki 1j away from Jita also got high volume traffice but havent heard abt any attacks there .. yet!!
But considering .. its quite interesting on wat these pirates do ... u can lay a trap ie kamikaze an indy with high value loot (in gang ..whose hidden) then wait for them to attack then concord come blow them up then they come backin their pickup ship n u can blow them away.... ...hmm wonder if that would work n also prolly not worth it but wat the heck just enjoy pvp inhigh sec without needing to wardec any1  |

Check out the Missile Guide on the main website. It explains a lot, especially the more difficult concepts like sig radius and explosion velocity. It'll basically explain why cruise and siege (torpedo) launchers are relatively ineffective vs small and fast rats.

hmm... i'm using the trial account at the moment, in my Amarr Punisher.... read up some opinions of users, they fit afterburner to the ship.. and some other stuff which need more skills....arghh.. i'm using armor plate, and armor repairer only..... is it better to have afterburner??
lolz the Amarr agent always provide me with illegal stuff for reward, and even offer me illegal arms in exchange for 200 loyalty points... dunno wth are they thinking... before this, she ask me go collect 30 units of some type of drugs in exchange for 70,000+ isk.... hahahaha.... yeah not to mention some stupid Pax Amarr book (cant remember the name) written by their emperor or somebody.... lolz... Executioner is an amarr ship, so you should equip with laser turrets (pulse or beam) , not rail guns...
And if u planning to be a fully combat pilot, then u should progress to the next frigate, Punisher,that will make your Level 1 missions easier. |

In my experience in MMOG, it'll only be welcomed at the beginning, but later... it'll be nothing more than white elephant. LYN is good enough already. Mission tips, basically: Level 1: Frigates, Destroyers Level 2: Cruisers Level 3: Battlecruisers, Battleships Level 4: Battleships For newbies, get familiar yourself with tanking. Though level 1s are not that hard yet. In my Caldarian opinion, either get frigs that are good at speed (Condor), damage dealing (Kestrel), or tanking (Merlin). Other races' ships, dunno |

IMO should try to get to lvl3 mission asap since thats where ur isk will start building faster but try to get ur skills (missiles/guns n tanking capability) balance.. Wihtout those u will lose a ship or two but since they can be easily replace then it shuldnt be a problem unless u lose a navy issue ships then that really hurt your wallet.
Losing ships is part of life in EVE so get use to it..... Lvl4 once u can solo is where the really bucks are in PVE but the jump from lvl3 to lvl4 is a biggie so watch ur self. But once u can ace lvl4 u get bored pretty soon so then prepare urself for pvp heheehe a totally different ball game. |
