Downloading the client and got the 14-day pass. Been looking for something online to play, and I've loved space games since... Wing cOmmander and privateer and homeworld and all that.
Looks like there's a steep learning curve, and will post back here once I've got everything going. Hope to see some of you in there |

Took a long while to log on.... I thought I had connection problems but it was just Streamyx being real slow. Finally managed to get on, and started the tute. Got to the point where I had to wait for a pirate ship to come by to get the key to progress to the next deadspace, but the pirates really take their time to respawn.
In the meantime, while sitting there, I got what sounded like a very homosexual request. It was a "would you like to cruise wif me?" followed by a question pertaining to my sexual orientation. I decided to call it a night cos it was late, I had to work and the request to join a gang with the abovementioned person was fairly awkward. And I also had a n00b steal a container from me after I nailed a rat. His name was blinking red, but I decided it was wise not to take action... Should I have blown him apart? Game name: Roland San, Caldari and in some State War corp. Looking forward to joining up with some Malaysians that won't ask me awkward questions |

Hello again to the bunch of you I met last night.
Finished the tute, and after Red and QA and all logged off, continued for a while with some fedex missions, and bought a Bantam. Two succesive CTDs ended my session, and it was quite late too, which is why I'm paying the price today. Gonna check up on the CTD-Audigy problem. Might be logging on a bit later tonight, gotta layan the gf first. She doesn't know about Eve, and I think it's best not to tell her... yet |

Aiyoh, Eve was lagging like heck for me last night. Opening any of the side windows, or item windows, took a minute minimum. Market took 5 mins to open up. After a while give up already.
Seems like Streamyx not happy with Eve. LYN loaded fast, as with other sites. Hopefully tonight will be speedy |

Hornet, hard to say. Last night was pretty laggy. Then this morning, I logged on to kick off another skill to train while I'm away at work, and it was snappy fast.
I think it's my area. Or it's my buddies down the road makaning all the bandwidth with their massive downloading of, erm, nekkid exercise videos... |

QUOTE(Hornet012 @ Apr 25 2006, 05:21 PM) Well, kinda. It's Telekom.I lose connection (the "cannot connect to remote comp" type) everytime after it rains. And y'know, it's raining every bloody day these days Thing is, my private phone line's been strange for the past few months: I cannot make or receive voice calls. No dial tone, but still can log onto Streamyx. After a few hours, Streamyx will trickle down to a crawl, but it hasn't bothered me much over the past few months. Only go online to surf or to email, haven't been using it for games until Eve. So I'm guessing everytime there's rain and lightning, the switchbox down the road somehow dies. I see a Telekom guy there working on it EVERY week... Funny thing is, the house main line always seems to work... Anyways, I'm running out of trial. I'm going to call Telekom, or rather TM, and have them look into this. Then I'll get my paid Eve account going. No point continuing like this - over the long weekend I only managed to put 3 hours in before the clouds darkened and the rain fell. And everytime they repair it kena again. So gotta put some pressure on them to sort this out. |

Woohoo!!!
I have internet from home again!!! I have credit card!!! It's time to commit!!! Girlfriend's away on holiday!!! I can play all I want!!! So many exclamation marks!!! Some time later: Bizzare. I keep getting a "Your credit card could not be validated." error, with a code 0069 "card not authorised". This is my internet MC, which I've used to purchase guitars from Ishibashi.com, stuff off Amazon.com and iPod accesories online. It's got a zero balance, and more than enough credit. I've filled the form in correctly, every detail has been triple-checked, and the CVC is there. The card will not expire for nearly a year. Ah it's nearly 12. I wanna sleep already. Will call them up tmr. Another thought: Daniel Tee, if I buy a 30 day timecode from you, can I reactivate from trial? Will there be any time deduction? Ah, I'll just PM you. I just talked with my credit card people. They say the transaction's been confirmed and authorised on their side, so I think it's something wrong with CCP...

QUOTE(sbz2000 @ May 22 2006, 12:29 PM) Ohh you won't wish its kali since any major upgrade to the game will have a week of problem arise. you can say several days after RMR patch, the server is slow and got stargate block at several system due to controlling memory leak. Kali is at least an excuse to train for a high rank level 5 skill. |

QUOTE(sbz2000 @ May 24 2006, 02:54 PM) mine shoot straight straight and damn kau far too.yours just explode all over her in a mess. in fact, yours doesn't even get near her to explode. you explode far away and rely on your blast radius to get her. her sig radius smaller also. so i think my railgun better. |

I lost my first ship last night. My Cormorant. Taken out by an storyline mish entity... ummm... a couple of flameburst spewing Merc Fighters. They were hitting me from about just under 30 km out.
At first I was a bit overconfident. I warped in about 10k from them and I thought, hey no prob, I've never had my armour scratched yet. But the missiles came in, and I couldn't outrun or kill them fast enough. When I was taking armour damage, I figured it was time to warp out. However, was about a second too slow warping out, and just as I had aligned and built up the warp meter, the last missile came in and next thing I knew, I was in a pod... Losing ships is painful... Anyway, before I got blown up I left a bookmark (maybe if i didn't i could've made the warp...), and I went back and slapped some active thermal tanking, and came back and showed them who's boss (from 40km out with 5 150mm Scout railguns lah). Pity I've put so much time into gunnery skills. Now I'm beefing up my missile skills so I can use the Caracel to hit with assault launchers and lights around 45-50km out hopefully, and a lot more with heavys. Beefing up on shield skills, too. I dun wan to get caught pants down again. |
