the current UM sim tat is in your hand was being assigned a MSISDN number , meaning your mobile number..........

If you wan to MNP, you will be issue a new UM sim (blank sim) which the Activation Dept of UM will hav to key in your particulars into this new sim , which also carries the port-in MSISDN particulars from your previous telco sim.......

hav i cleared your doubts?

buy me a glass of teh-ping and i explain to you in more detail , with animation if you wish biggrin.gif

Only Prepaid user can enjoy the special data roaming rate of $0.30/mb while in Singapore. Your roaming charge in Singapore is not within the package, so you will be charged everytime you use... can be expensive if you use it often.

I think i might be switching to umobile cause i need to use the internet.

Currently i am on Hotlink youth club which is a dam awesome plan.Once i switch over, there is no turning back to hotlink youth club anymore. So i need to make a good decision.

But i have 2 question:
1)I need to maintain my number with a lowest amount of money spend, when i am in oversea next next year(2013). Currently on Hotlink youth club my number can last till 2014 as long as i reload RM 10 a year. Actually i will be using this umobile for 1 year only. After 1 year i will be studying in oversea. Cause once i leave next year to study oversea.I will only come back once a year. so i need to make my sure my number will not be cancel. Is there any suggestion? I dun mind MNP to any other telco, before leaving.

2)Anyone here buy a prepaid number from official umobile website before? how long is the delivery and activation, did it went through smoothly? The reason i would like to buy a number is to test their connection before i MNP my number to u mobile.

edit: i ask about the max day of validity, but after posting i found out is only 300 days.

i bought my UM sim online. took around 3-4 days to arrive because the courier they used was so lousy. but instant activation once you got the sim.

i would suggest you to keep your youth club sim. just buy a new UM sim. i was thinking the same also before switching. but then i wasn't sure if UM can totally replace the sucks service by Hotlink so i decided to purchase a new UM sim. and i'm grateful that i didn't port in my YC sim. nod.gif

they all have sucks system. so better have a back up sim that you think you can rely on. icon_rolleyes.gif

my advise to you, keep the youth club simcard, buy new UM sim card, who knows what will happen next..
i bought the UM at 7-11 because of their mobile internet.
