The Emotional Highbury and The Grand Ashburton Grove

Highbury 1913-2006

For the majority of their time in south-east London, Arsenal played at the Manor Ground in Plumstead, a three-year period at the nearby Invicta Ground between 1890 and 1893 excepted. The Manor Ground was initially just a field, but the club installed stands and terracing in time for their first Football League match in September 1893. They played their home games there for the next twenty years (with two exceptions in 189495), until the move to north London in 1913.
user posted imageuser posted image

Arsenal Stadium, widely referred to as Highbury, was Arsenal's home from September 1913 until May 2006. The original stadium was designed by the renowned football architect Archibald Leitch, and had a design common to many football grounds in the UK at the time, with a single covered stand and three open-air banks of terracing. In the 1930s, the entire stadium was given a massive overhaul, with new Art Deco West and East stands constructed, opening in 1932 and 1936 respectively; in addition, the North Bank terrace had a roof added, which was later bombed during World War II and not restored until 1956.

At its peak, Highbury could hold over 60,000 spectators, and had a capacity of 57,000 until the early 1990s. The Taylor Report and Premier League regulations forced Arsenal to convert Highbury into an all-seater in time for the 199394 season, reducing the capacity to 38,419 seated spectators. This capacity had to be reduced further during Champions League matches to accommodate additional advertising hoardings, so much so that for two seasons (199899 and 199900) Arsenal played Champions League home matches at Wembley, which could house more than 70,000 spectators.

Final moments - the emotions run high in Highbury

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

Ashburton Grove 2007-present

Expansion of Highbury was restricted because the East Stand had been designated as a Grade II listed building and the other three stands were close to residential properties. These limitations have prevented the club from maximising the revenue that their domestic form could have brought in recent seasons. After considering various options, in 2000 Arsenal proposed building a new 60,000-seater stadium at Ashburton Grove, since renamed the Emirates Stadium, about 500 metres south-west of Highbury. The project was initially delayed by red tape and rising costs, but construction was completed in July 2006, in time for the start of the 200607 season. The stadium is named after its sponsors, the airline company Emirates, with whom the club signed the largest sponsorship deal in English football history, worth approximately 100 million; however some fans refer to the ground as Ashburton Grove, or the Grove, as they do not agree with corporate sponsorship of stadium names. The stadium will be officially known as Emirates Stadium until at least 2012, and the airline will be the club's shirt sponsor until the end of the 201314 season.

It seem every team when facing Arsenal have same strategy when they're trailing: Right after 2nd half apply more pressure and keep attacking. Arsenal this time were very lucky just to conceded one goal and Blackpool start to fading away in 70 minutes. That is why they need to make their chances count, i can see they are taking matter lightly after they lead 2 goals before the break. And shortly after they got the goal number 3, they began take things lightly again. Clichy almost blew it. Who knows what might happen if Blackpool got 2 goals. That's why Arsene Wenger was visibly furious when his players keep wasting chances.

And btw, i heard to be a champion or successful you need a bit of luck. Luck doesn't come by itself, you need to earn it.

the whole team were very slopp, giving damn a lot of ball away..i watch until heart terkeluar le
a scrappy win, we missed a lot of very good chances!
their penalty claim wise, lets not ArsenalBias
the first one,
i've seen referee not given those penalty before
that guy was definitely playing the penalty, he was dropping even before the contact and im not sure how much of a contact there is
(i gotta see the replay again)
and besides that he was never getting the ball on a clear shot, nor was his pass to the other pool player reaches a clear cut chance
so maybe that's how the referee sees it unsure.gif

i don't remember the 2nd penalty claim
i was actually working while streaming the footy, so kinda missed a fair part of the game
looking forward to MOTD

nevertheless its a good result, this means we got another week to play for and still in for a call to press MU icon_rolleyes.gif

1 interesting moment for me was when Abou stupidly getting yellow card for kicking the ball away after the foul had been given against us. Cesc physically pushed him away to prevent him from creating further damage to him and us as a whole (see Newcastle away for reference). i never Cesc did that before, he was never the vocal type of captain ala Paddy where he can be vocal against the opponents or against his own players whenever the needs arise. honestly i never thought Cesc had it in him, until tonight that is

i'm not sure if this change can benefit the team, but i do know i like what i'm seeing

i actually don't like to remember that game for the obvious reason, but then when someone come out with this statement i can't resist to reply

Gael did not cost us anything, the stupid referee cost us that match and our weak mentality cost us the season afterward. the penalty given against Gael was the wrong decision, Gael never touch the B'ham player as he cleanly get the ball. yes he did give the ball away which leads to the incident but how can you fault him when the decision to award the penalty was wrong?

just for the record, i think we can do better than Gael but we have more pressing matter on hand other than him right now

Clichy is still miles ahead of Gibbs in terms of positioning and defending but weaker in crossing and attacking style.

What Arsenal really need is stronger defending and not doing a Barca-style where RB and LB are the real winger which are easily caught off guard.

Anyway MOTD pls laugh.gif

I doubt this based on the past couples of games. Gibbs looks quite promising before his injury but not so sure at the moment since there's not much 1st team play time for him.

Didnt catch the 1st half, but based on his(Clichy) 2nd half performance, he's only as good as 2nd string player. Made a very naive schoolboy mistake and luckily pak Lehman saved his ass. What kind of mentality was that? AW really needs to address this kind of mistake seriously. Same goes to Nasri & Cesc. Everyone knows that EPL ref most of the time does not protect ball holding players but yet they still think the other way round.

Without Song, the defence really out of sort. Almost heart attack inducing everytime Blackpool counter-attack. It's like there's no organization & communication between the back 4. What are our defence coaches doing? Such defence wont win us anything.

AA almost look-likes a 'dead-man walking' case. Being subbed at 60th min tells all.

nope, based on this season display Gael is miles ahead of Kieran for the LB position. Kieran never justifies his hype this season for me

I also agree that Clichy is still the best LB in Arsenal. Maybe Gibbs does not get enough games to prove.

Clichy is still miles ahead of Gibbs in terms of positioning and defending but weaker in crossing and attacking style.

What Arsenal really need is stronger defending and not doing a Barca-style where RB and LB are the real winger which are easily caught off guard.

Anyway MOTD pls laugh.gif

i actually don't like to remember that game for the obvious reason, but then when someone come out with this statement i can't resist to reply

Gael did not cost us anything, the stupid referee cost us that match and our weak mentality cost us the season afterward. the penalty given against Gael was the wrong decision, Gael never touch the B'ham player as he cleanly get the ball. yes he did give the ball away which leads to the incident but how can you fault him when the decision to award the penalty was wrong?

just for the record, i think we can do better than Gael but we have more pressing matter on hand other than him right now
*
Come on, Gael losses his focus. You want to blame the refree? He is clumsy but his tackle is good and pacey too.
To sell him away is a very bad idea unless Wenger got him a darn good LB.

gibbs againts MU is a disaster..but i like when AW played both of them, clichy and gibbo..they can exchange place and makes it harder to penetrate the flanks..

And wow..El Capitan should score..300th games for Arsenal at 23..salute. But...guys,checked out his tweet, sounds like new hope or, a goodbye to me sad.gif

Yup. Cesc was excellent that night. A lot good high ball he gave. Particularly to RVP.
But too bad RVP fail to score more than 1.

Great win for Arsenal. For a moment i thought we were gonna bottle it up somewhere the middle of 2nd half.

Anyways, if the news that Almunia is injured during warm up is true, it makes us the only team in the premiership to have the first 3 GK injured. Great to see mad Jens back in action, minus the madness. It's just so not Jens. Nevertheless, he looks abit nervous and gingerly prepared for the game but he's slowly getting back in the groove.

As for the team, AW made quite a fair bit of changes. RAther surprised Eboue played over Sagna and i must say Eboue looked far more lively than Sagna altho Sagna has far better defending abilities. Diaby was alright but i think fatigue kinda got into him towards the end of the game.

Having said that, the win over Blackpool was alright but we need to kick up a few more gears if we were to win the EPL. We must defend better and take the chances.

Sagna was injured.

So seems Kroenke is on the verge of securing Fiszman's and Nina's combine total of 16% which would mean that he has to bid for a takeover and The Arsenal Supporters' Trust have been surprisingly pretty receptive albeit cautious over the news. Would be interesting to see what happens over the next few days.

Taking those teams means RVP and our forwards need to make each of the chances count as if their life depend on it . Because chances will be much rarer now , compared to Blackpool's horrendous defend .

Good win last nite though .

blink.gif hehehehe

But if mafia guy mayb can secretly hire hitman all to take out rooney et al ? =P

Anyway it seems like a rather prudent way to do it, seems pretty inevitable. I just hope that this means lotsa $ in as opposed to $ out with man utd's take over.

Yesterday's win was more of a relief that we finally won. I still find it really unconvincing but the lads did work hard although concentration once again was suspect. I had the feeling that the lads wanted the season over with and look for the next season already. 2nd place if we can consolidate is not too bad. But not winning the league is really our own downfall. Bad decisions/injuries or not. We had enough games to negate all this - Newcastle, Spurs, West Brom and our draws come to mind. Everyone including the fans need to take a good hard look at ourselves. Management and players need to step it up, but so do the fans - yes we deserve something - but being a supporter should it be conditional (you win then i support?) or we support unconditionally ? That is something a lot of the so called "corporate fans" that we're often accused of having need to look at ourselves. The debate of high ticket prices = merited performance is not really valid here although i would have went into it if it wasnt for the fact that it would be too long and tedious.

A much needed win over the weekend. Much have been said about the game hence there's no need for me to elaborate more; but in short we were pretty good in the first half but could have easily lost it in the second half.

Anyway, Stanny's finally made his move... Thoughts are as below:

What it means:
1. Nothing much, really. It was already ominous since the day Stanny was invited into the board - more of a 'when' rather than 'will or will not'.
2. Drastic changes to the management of the club are very unlikely, given that Stanny has agreed to keep the current board and pledged full support for Arsene.
3. Even less influence from Usmanov, if he had any to begin with. He pretty much alienated himself by publicly declaring an entire different philosophy of management, and the GFC hit him hard that he didn't have enough financial firepower to battle with Stan.

What I hope to see:
1. Continuation of our traditions and philosophy - no worries here given it's still pretty much the same blokes that run the club.
2. Stanny bringing his experience and expertise in running sporting franchises to Arsenal. It'll benefit us if Stanny plays an active role in marketing the Arsenal brand, and hopefully with his (and Gazi's) influence in US we'll be able to establish a stable fanbase over there, and hopefully it'll mean more publicity, more revenue, potentially more scouting networks and acquisition of starlets.
3. More financial strength to compete with rival clubs who have sugar daddies. Stan is a businessman, and I certainly hope he increases the income of Arsenal using commercial ways. It's very unlikely that he'll inject his own fortune into the club (Roman, Sheikh), and he has agreed not to pile debts onto the club (Glazers, Gillett-Hicks).
4. Stanny not meddling with the footballing side of things - leave it to the manager and his staff. Many managers at rival clubs have bad experiences where the club owner insists on his favourite player being bought/fielded without considering the suitability, or have vital players sold for profit without consulting the manager and coaches. So Stan, stick to the business.
5. Stanny being more vocal and actually telling people about his directions and ambitions for the club; and at the same time tell Peter HillWood to shut up!

That's what exactly what AW and Arsenal want? An unpredictable outcome, it tested alot on our defense but in the end what really matter was that it grind result. It is not like the previous draw game which AW claimed it to be flat. Flat is actually a softer word for "predictable".

I hope the takeover won't stop Arsenal from the possible visit to Malaysia for the match against Malaysia team with this takeover. laugh.gif

Anyway, i guess Arsenal have to at least wait until end of the season to know how powerful is this new owner.

when he was young, he was a robust person a total hot tempered player. got a few reds.
he is showing the maturity and leadership today.

RVP is arsenal through and through. rclxms.gif

Nobody knows whether the bust-up really happened, but if a heated argument spurred a victory I don't see what's the issue here.

Not many people like Diaby and yes, he's a frustrating player to watch; but he was actually pretty good during the Blackpool game. Hardworking, tackling opponents, dribbling past people, charging into the box - it's probably the first time I thought, "hey, that's kinda like Paddy" since he had his fracture. Again, what Abou has to prove is he can perform at this level of intensity for consecutive games without succumbing to another injury.

Upgrade the stadium ? Only after what, 4,5 years ? It took us like what, a hundred years before we move to a new ground ? The stadium's just fine. It's the team that needs fixing.

Lol...maybe I am more towards club oriental. I will like to have some increments to the club profits as I think we already have a decent team. Szczesny(injured), Fabianski(injured) and Lehmann for keeper...Bringing in one top keeper means pushing Szczesny to another club, having Djourou(injured), vermaelen(injured), Koscielny and squillaci as centre defenders... Bringing in another means Koscielny or Djourou will go, Sagna is ok, clichy is still consider not too bad, as for midfielders/wingers we have Nasri, Walcott, Song, Fabregas, Wilshere, Ramsey, Miyaichi and more than enough for strikers...

Unless the fixing you are talking about is to take Clichy away and replace a new left back(which I don't really think its necessary), find a replacement for Song (Maybe) and get another top striker into the club which may lead to Chamakh going off to another club. So far the only thing need to fix is to get a Song replacement only if Denilson and Diaby is going off and even if thats the case we will have 2 good DM fighting for first place if Song is back. All I am trying to say is that we have a good first team and decent replacement, don't really need to spend to get 2nd class replacement of what we already have.

I think the current crop is good enough. Is just that it will be better if Arsene can get some experienced players into the team. Lehmann? Campbell? maybe a leadership defender. Plus replacement for Song is a must. You wanna gamble with Denilson and Diaby everytime?

Winning mentality comes from the heart and not only experience. Wilshere is a very good example, maybe its arguable that hes trying to keep his first team but he had been fighting so hard for all the matches...which is exactly what Song did last season. If really wanna overhaul the average to a even better one...Then we need to replace sagna and clichy to the class like Dani Alves and Gareth Bale where its not easy to look for in current market and dont come cheap...

You want an all star squad?

IMHO an extremely good core players (maybe 5 or 6) along with several good players is good enough to be a title winning side. The most important things is grit. That one come from big heart, hard works and then experiences.

Winning mentality comes from winning. Its best to buy players used to winning because they know how to win tongue.gif

We have enough youth and energy in the team. Just lack of the winning mentality. This team never won anything. They are lack of confidence. Only a few of them ever won something. So i suggest we need to bring in winners to teach them how to win.

But our old players like Henry,Pires Ljunberg and so. All wanted to play.So maybe Wenger thought it is not so wise to keep them.

QUOTE
The new Arsenal home shirt features a design that is similar to the current 2010-11 one, but the most prominent new feature is a wreath around the Arsenal crest. Also noticeable is that the sleeves are white with no red trim apparent. Meanwhile, the collar on the shirt is red instead of the current white color.

Personally I think the design is too similar to the current shirt except for the wreath. But since the wreath marks the 125th year anniversary of Arsenal, it has a deeper meaning and therefore will be a prized possession among many Arsenal supporters.

The home jersey looks awesome IMO. The away one looks ok to me. Not everyones cup of tea but oh well. Would probably get the Home jersey this year with either Van P 11 or Walcott 14 on the back.

We have no idea which one will be authentic, but it's almost certain that our home kit will be very similar to our current one albeit with a red collar and fully white sleeves. Whether we will get a coloured logo with golden olive leaves or one with white outlines remains unknown, but personally I would prefer the white outline logo given that it's a special anniversary kit.

As for the away kit, it's very unlikely we'll get the white one. We may essentially get a blue one given this current one is yellow, although the rumoured design as shown above is emesis-inducing. Nevertheless we often see horrendous designs being leaked out and never come to fruition - remember the "green" away kit last season?

F*ck you Nike. When are you going to stop mucking around? Red shirt, white sleeves for home kit; yellow shirt, navy pants for away. Is it that bloody hard?

dats because the Royal Arsenal of Woolwich used to deal weapons and ammunition with the Royal family in the early days thus create an association between the Woolwich Arsenal football team and the monarch subsequently they watched the team played of course and had been fans of Arsenal until today.

ARSENAL THE BEST
Arsenal are set to welcome back club legend Thierry Henry and his side New York Red Bulls for the Emirates Cup this summer.
Talks are reportedly at an advanced stage for the MLS club to compete in the pre-season tournament. In other news, the Gunners have had to abandon their scheduled tour of Japan following the devastating earthquakes. Arsene Wenger’s men will now visit Malaysia and Hong Kong.

With most of the players are back in full training, I hope we can bulldoze off other teams and grab max points from the remaining games. lol very unlikely for Arsenal to do that especially nearing the end of the season when we usually fumbled as shown in recent years. Fingers crossed that it won't happen again.

yeap no doubt, i would be silly to question united capability to bounce back after a defeat as they have proved it countless time
but hey
a United defeat is better then no defeat, if they would have won tonight that would instead boost their morale up
we could use less of that sweat.gif
as an Arsenal fan its never enough to see MU lose, simply because u guys are hard to beat, Thats a compliment.
Arguably you guys are the best team in England in terms of achievement, okay okay in before Liverpool comes in and claim they have more A or B
i dare not go to the extreme,
But Mu is best team overall over the last decade, fair enough i supposed

just incase!
in before i am an ABU laugh.gif
oh well, abu or not...we are known as abu's anyway
i might as well be an Abu tonight, it would very much make sense
at least i am being called ABU because i behaved like one.

i might as well be an Abu tonight, it would very much make sense
at least i am being called ABU because i behaved like one.

yeap no doubt, i would be silly to question united capability to bounce back after a defeat as they have proved it countless time
but hey
a United defeat is better then no defeat, if they would have won tonight that would instead boost their morale up
we could use less of that  sweat.gif
as an Arsenal fan its never enough to see MU lose, simply because u guys are hard to beat, Thats a compliment.
Arguably you guys are the best team in England in terms of achievement, okay okay in before Liverpool comes in and claim they have more A or B
i dare not go to the extreme,
But Mu is best team overall over the last decade, fair enough i supposed

Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine with a fan wanting rivals to lose, especially title rivals. What annoying is those who cared sooo much about United losing, it's a bigger celebration than their own team winning. Not naming names but it irkes me how some Liverpool fans want Liverpool to purposely lose to arsenal. yeah, they dont want MU to have 19. But at what cost? Wanting their own team to lose? U call that a fan? U don't deserved to be called a fan if you want your team to lose, no matter for whatever reason.

That's just an example btw, there are many more stuff
Anti-united ppl say/do. Hope you get what I am talking about.

but u know whats out of boundary?

attacking our believes, faith, trust...in other words mocking the way of Arsenal
and ends with nothing personal is all about the game

Man...you're a Sunday preacher or something? innocent.gif tongue.gif

Seriously, im not sure what the MU fans are thinking after their match yesterday. Do they really think that other fellows gonna pat them on the back and say that they are sorry to see them lose? LOL LOL especially after some of them have trolled in other club's thread whenever MU beat them??? (oh yes, im not stereotyping, check back the past few versions of our thread all you what).

On a serious note, i wonder if their loss gonna dent their morale and confidence. I have to admit that usually them seem to bound back real good after a defeat. But this a cup's semi here we're talking about. So we'll see, we'll see. Having said that, im more worried about our matches than theirs. Liverpool resurrected at the wrong time for us. Their games against the top clubs are really of world class standard. Combination of meireles, kurt, suarez and carrol seems to be working really well for them. Fortunately our big guns came back at the right time too. Guts feeling are telling me tonight gonna be one hell of an exciting match. Of course, i dont mind if it will be a dull 3-0 to us though *dream mode on* tongue.gif

I don't mind them trolling because it is the nature that says "the right to brag"...Im feeling more uncomfortable if they come here trying to give us consolation/pat like some kinda "Angels" or something. It makes me feel nausea.

I really hope we dont waste this chance to close the gap on MU today since they are not playing this weekend.

We've already wasted so many opportunities against lesser opposition.

I'm seeing the same thing now - opponent sitting deep and nobody couldn't/don't go into opponent penalty box.

Though I see some improvement such as attempt for long shots and more middle through passes (despite failing)

I do agree that we are doing better, though I still prefer to see us more committed in front of the Liverpool goal posts

when opponet sitting deep, we need to have 2 strikers.

coz i see RVP in the front alone not enough. he need to wait runs from the midfield and from the wing. at that time, the penalty box is already full with defend.

uhhh, dunno how to express myself on the first half performance

we are attacking alright, thats for sure
unlucky koscielny kena tiang
referee wise, he is doing alright i guess laugh.gif

i feel walcott at times could opt to cut in to the left for a left foot shot instead of always cutting out right looking for the cross,
our defenders didnt really have much of a job to do...definitely a positive thing,
but i feel it will be a different 2nd half

if dalgish calls for a 2nd half attacking display, it would opened up their defense better and
hope we can hit them on a counter.

and last but not last

thinking which board of director is this, why so ugly one

No need to wait until 70' only go gung ho, by the 60' if it's still goalless, AW should sub in Bendtner and Arshavin.

It was the mentality of the team that lead to the penalty.

Why do they need to PRESS THE FRIGGING PANIC BUTTON?? Just put men behind the ball after scoring is more than enough.

Enough is enough!

Lucas' good or Eboue's bad; I'll let you guys (preferably non Arsenal or Liverpool fans) to judge
*
i m non Arsenal and non Liverpool and i would say thats a bit dive from lucas but eboue did a wrong thing in the wrong time oso..
you r waiting for the final whistle to be blow from the refree, just stand ur ground instead of stick+push a little your body into lucas and giving Lucas the chance to dive.

This is where experience come in handy.

Totally speechless.... This game shows dat referee alone can f*** the game even with 1 sec left.

And eboue, wtf is he thinking...y do he need to chase the ball.

The title was gone when we drew 0-0 with Sunderland. I've mentioned it time and time again. Before this Arsene was blaming on fatigue. Now we have full 7 days to prepare for matches and this is all the team could muster.

I just couldn't get through the idea of why we couldn't score when we totally overwhelmed them.

They don't deserve the tie.

Just like yesterday's Classico, 1-1, both penalty. I hate the ref,but I hate the player more, at least for today. Till next time.

more defensive frailties. keep the fkin ball out from the penalty box for a fkin 1 minute, is that such a hard thing to do?! not just the defenders, why allow that kind of scuffle in front of the penalty box in the first place? can't you properly clear the fkin ball out? instead of miskicking it back to the fkin opponent? to quote drogba, it's a fkin disgrace!!!

i think i saw kosc or someone trying to play passing football out of the penalty box in the dying minutes. i was like wtf, 2 minutes away and you still have the nerve to be clever in front of the box. what with almost 9 liverpool players hovering around sniffing for mistakes. and with the miskicks n all that there's bound to be mistakes. nak main tiki taka main kat tengah padang la, main depan gol tu cari pasal

Exactly. MU had been great this season and they are able to move forward with the ball and SHOOT. Putting one or two of their strikers, we killed the game in first 40 minutes, we really need strikers that can shoot. Eboue missed 1 chance, V.Persie a few, and quite a numbers of possible long balls that can be deliver... Miss the goal or not, we wasted the possession also at the end, so they should have just shot it. Sunderland, WBA, Newcastle, Spurs, Wigan...and recent combo of Sunderland, WBA, Blackburn Rovers... Had been wasting too many chances. doh.gif

the first half was all ours and yet we didnt want to pull the trigger.
we chose to toy around and then 2nd half liverpool improved.
just when i thought we gonna nicked the winner, 1 minute later they got another penalty.

maybe we need to revert back to the old 4-4-2 system. that would mean an extra striker for extra shooting prowess. less midfield for less passing. maybe. i dont know. if cesc leaves, then i see no reason to maintain the 4-2-3-1 formation which is basically built with cesc as the nucleus

i dont know bro. i am just...heart broken. really no one to blame but our players. we are lack of good finisher. No idea why Wenger sub Bendtner instead of Chamakh. Ben was useless throwing all the balls.

Maybe they need our blessing to win cup smile.gif

eboue ..for me he played quite well today but destroy arsenal chance of winning

anyway i blame the ref . how can 8 mins of injury time become 12 mins ?
he should blow the final whistle after rvp scored the penalty .

Btw I don't blame Fabregas if he chooses to leave in the summer.
He's already 24 this year and considering he's an early boomer I'm not sure how many peak years are still ahead of him

agreed, the ref shouldve ended the match a few minutes earlier. but the external blaming needs to be minimized, when internal factors are the reason why a goal is possible even with 1 minute remaining. heck, it was one kick remaining. i agree with some players taking the blame too, but after all these years, the same players are taking the stick. eventually, one man must realize what to do....
i blame wenger.

as much as i blame wenger, i don' feel the need to remove him. i think he's done a great job (financially), and i do like his ideology and way of playing. but the thing that i dont like is his stubbornness and refusal to deviate away from his methods. if it aint broke, dont fix it. but it is currently broke and on the verge of crumbling down, so something obviously needs to change. i don't know how i will tolerate him if he decides the current squad is enough to challenge for the title again next season. because the team is good enough, but there's not enough depth! the second string players arent good enough to give the first team players a challenge! unless this changes, next season will be the same fkin repetitive story that we experience for the seventh year running!

I've really lost count of the number of F*ck ups we've done this season.

Spurs, West Brom, Newcastle now this. 8 Freaking points. Blackburn and Sunderland 0-0 were perfectly winnable as well.

And to think some muppets actually wanted Eboue in as first choice RB compared to Sagna. Couldn't recall who already. Today was the perfect example of why Sagna is first choice RB.

Don't put all the blame on him. Yes I admit he is a hot and cold type of player, similar to Diaby and Arshavin, but it is worth the risk and there's no better option. Don't forget the league cup final against Birmingham. By far the best chance to win a trophy in years but not even Sagna can do anything about it.

To be honest I feel the game really slowed down when walcott was taken off (I dono why wenger made that decision) but the worse thing is he bring on Bendtner sad.gif ... From that moment on I knew we are going for a draw... There's one chance where a cross is beautifully on for bendtner and he miss it which i feel chamakh would have head it in. And then I realize EVERYTIME when a player pass to him he just pass it back or pass to other player WTF? As a winger he should try to dribble and give crosses into the box....So it was kind of wenger's fault in my opinion for that sub.... Conclusion, he's not a good winger nor a good striker... He only shines when playing against small team... SO PLEASE SELL AWAY SHITTY BENDTNER, HE DONT DESERVE TO WEAR THE ARSENAL SHIRT!! mad.gif

Is bookie really have a say in football matches? The result is too dramatic, i'm not complaining because Arsenal didn't won but i think last night finish was melodramatic. And since the emergence of Paul the octopus i slightly believe bookie have power in certain area during a match. This might be a word like a sore loser but i can't really forget about it. Not about the draw but the dramatic end. See how much the final stoppage time? The initial stoppage time is 8 minutes the ref could end the match straight after RVP penalty kick.
