QUOTE(Mikeshake @ Apr 23 2011, 05:47 AM) LOL I downloaded 144 gb in 1 day and I'm sure I'm not a big downloader. keke cannot do like that due many ppl using under 1 roof. even my DHCP list is about 9 ip connected. lol. some more my siblings love to watch youtube, streaming and some of them facebooking or blogging. just can use full bandwidth from 1am to 6am. No way its because of your neighbours , I have unifi for 2 months and it's happening at the same time for many users. My connection was fine, 2 days ago it became unstable. It has to be a problem from TM ! 144gb per day, wow, what u download man? |

QUOTE(LightningFist @ Apr 23 2011, 02:04 AM) I don't watch a lot of IPTV, but at the rare times I did I didn't get cut. Same for phone. Internet does get cut extremely frequently at my poor location like I said, and not just split second cuts (lucky if the graph for downloads shows peak-trough-peak-trough, because most of the time it just dies/stays at 0 for ages). I experience such problem at the first few days of my unifi experience. What i did was limit the connection in BT softwares(if u do use them), force my laptop into 802.11g mode(disable N) and also follow the guide to disable 40mhz and something like that in the router. It's still broadcasting at N though. From that onwards, dc problem is not so frequent. Sometimes just once or twice per day or not even once. This is just my way of doing it and I don't know why it solves my problem when i do so. Since 802.11g is 54Mbps, for 5Mbps UniFi, it's more than enough. You may try but I can't guarantee you anything. The best option is to go for the tp-link router.Yes, at the first location other wifi networks are at much stronger signals (I just noticed this), and indeed more networks are usually detected. However, it is because I have been using my own wifi (either Streamyx, Maxis, or P1 WiMax, and now Unifi) for so long in the same location with no disruptions or signal issues that I did not think of things like these. Never had a problem with my Aztech router using Maxis 3G broadband (as you might know P1 WiMax and Streamyx have their own internet connection problems, period). As for walls, the location is in a room above so there is a walls and door/window, while the better location is below (not line of sight, because of ceiling/floor), so I didn't think this would matter. Thanks for your contribution. Sounds like this is a permanent problem to do with the DLINK POS. Bad news, because I HAVE to be able to use it from my usual spot. |

QUOTE(alkt @ Apr 23 2011, 08:55 AM) LAN, about 600~700kbps torrent. sometimes can upto 1mbps. (tweaks, traffic shaper etc). Wireless, signal excellent, upto 500~600kpbs torrent. sometimes direct download can achieve 800kpbs. seed more than 10. uptime: more than 3 days, no disconnection at all. note: my friend also have unifi, area Bukit Rahman Putra. but using DIR-615, using wireless always dc. somehow his house is bungalow. using LAN, lol uptime not more than 1 day. maybe overheated? lastly they put at air-cond room (yeah they got tv room 24/7 air-cond room). can last about 2 days, period. but wireless always dc though. this is my personal experience. thats why after i subscribe to unifi, i just went to All IT Ikano buying TP-Link router. i dont want to waste my bandwidth. for what having faster internet speed but always dc? lol |

QUOTE(ericpires @ Apr 23 2011, 09:26 AM) So do all UNIFI users need to change to this TP-Link router?? How much izzit? if dont use it, i will have wireless DC all the time?? Not all router is compatible and TP-link is the only company that involve themselves in developing the custom firmware for their router. The router itself cost RM89+- from lowyat or digital mall. I have not use it but all those who bought it said it has outstanding performance when compared to DIR615. It's fine to be knowing nothing on the router. Buy at lowyat, go to their office at top and they will help you flash it. Buy it and tell us ur experience. haha |

Increased stability and stronger wifi output are just some of the reasons of why you should get the TP-Link router.
