QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 10 2015, 08:35 AM) Hi. PASUM students had been moved to 11th college since last year. Up to my knowledge, 11th college only has PASUM students and few foreign students only. i see. thanks! Provided you take extra credit for the course, you could finish it. But you will be most probably face time clashing or the subject you want to take is not offered in the semester. |

Ooo. From what I knew, Asasi moved to 12th college circa 2007/08. Didnt know they moved back. 11th college is also a good one. I stayed in 11th too. QUOTE(booklet @ May 10 2015, 03:05 PM) Happy Mother's Day & greetings to all UM fellows, I think you may check with the management office if they can allow this. I am currently in the final semester of my first degree program in CS (most recent CGPA: 3.88) & I'm keen to pursue my postgraduate study (in the field of data science) by dissertation/research mode @ UM. So is there any chance for me to get into UM with my partial transcript? Pls advise. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(booklet @ May 10 2015, 03:05 PM) Happy Mother's Day & greetings to all UM fellows, The best way to do a dissertation/research mode postgraduate study in UM, with an assigned supervisor and to have your desired topic, is actually to browse thru the Research Assistant list and see which project title they are recruiting. From there you will know who to contact. And supervisors, which most are senior lecturers are people who knows how to "hack" into UM's system. They know the best on the whole application process, By becoming RA you can potentially get postgraduate studies fund from your supervisor, which most of the time will be fully funded. For partial transcript I think you have to ask your faculty. But I doubt the faculty and IPS will allow this. This post has been edited by kumiko_91: May 11 2015, 12:26 AM |

This is probably out of context, but do they allow cooking in the dorms? Bringing rice cooker is allowed?

Guys I have a question.
I am currently working as a programmer at a company. I am 23 this year. I applied for UM computer science. I had plan to pursue part time degree at Utar. Question is should I pursue full time 3.5 years at UM or part time at Utar. If I choose UM path, I will be graduating at 27 with no experience, however if I choose the Utar path, I will be 27, with 4 years experience with a degree. Please enlighten me. |

Hello guys, I am looking to pursue my Degree in Comp Sc in UM as a full time course. Can I know what is the schedule like? Because I am looking to work after classes and I prefer to take full time instead of part time because it's gonna take quite some time before I could finish it as a part time course.
And anyone from that faculty here in this thread? Thanks! |

To be honest, its not allowed, including kettle, iron, tv etc. But people couldn't care less. QUOTE(imsushi92 @ May 23 2015, 09:52 AM) Guys I have a question. I would actually go with part time degree. From what I can see, companies dont really mind about your degree background as long as you have the skills they need. I was from FSKTM. The schedule is quite full on weekdays. But it totally depends on the credit hour you are taking on that particular semester actually. And anyone from that faculty here in this thread? Thanks! |

Hi,
I'm a graduate from University of Nottingham with a second upper class trying to apply for masters in University Malaya. My application was rejected because they converted my UK-based grading system (average marks) to their CGPA grading system and my "CGPA" is only 2.5. I graduated with a second upper class and somehow my marks was "downgraded" all the way from second upper to a third or pass degree. I feel it is very unfair for them to convert since both are really different grading systems. Just want to know if there is anyone out there experiencing the same thing as me? |

QUOTE(A-Note @ Jun 4 2015, 04:39 PM) They are both different grading system correct? But they just change my average using their grading system :/ The grading conversion is not as simple as the linear relationship, but that's the general procedure to compare apples and oranges. However, you may get the support letter from your potential research supervisor to state his or her intent to take you as a research assistant. You may also want to pitch your skills that are required in the research such as data mining, programming, modeling, etc. |

QUOTE(poyepollomi @ Jun 4 2015, 05:10 PM) Muhyiddin: Our education system better than advanced nations. It was reported 3 years ago. Specifically, Tan Sri said Malaysian children received better education than those in advanced countries based on the World Economic Forum's global competitiveness report (2012-2013) that ranked Malaysia 14th among 144 countries in quality of education (based on one of the eight indicators). However, the first indicator, Secondary education enrollment rate, also tells us only 68% of Malaysian children received the so-called "better education". This is how we interpret statistics. 2012-2013 Report (Page 247) ![]() 2014-2015 Report (Page 261) ![]() This post has been edited by Critical_Fallacy: Jun 4 2015, 06:17 PM |
