Hi everybody. I am really new here so im not sure if this is the right place to be asking such questions.

I have applied earlier to UM and had also attended the interview which was okay up to my guessing.
Since its already the August month, I would like to know if the date of the result will be posted on the same day as UPU's result?

I have applied for an Economics degree so I would like to know if any of you guys here are from the same course in UM?
Care to share your experience in the course?

P/s: I really am truly sorry if i shouldnt be posting here since im not even officially a student of UM myself and thanks a dime to those who'd help!

Hi there, the result will be released like usual on the same day as it did for other universities.
I'm a business student for myself, can't really help you with the course experience. Wish you luck BTW.

Hi. I am going to enter UM at the end of this month. I got civil engineering. I would like to know any possible ways to change course to more favourable course, mathematics in my case. Has anyone here did change course? If so can you kindly share your method?

Hi all,

I got offered Master of Economics at UM, I am a fresh working professional who currently working at a local bank's FX trading desk. May I know how good is the programme as I heard the Economics courses at UM are among the best in Msia. I am not really sure how true is it.

Appreciate anyone could advice me on that.

Okay i have a few questions regarding UM

1. Since UM has been granted autonomy, does that mean I only can apply into UM through UM own website only unlike before where you have to apply through UPU?

2. If I can apply through both UPU and UM website, what would happen if I apply through both UPU(let say that UM is choice number 1 on upu) and UM own website? (I'm afraid that some administrative error would occur or that it would affect my application)

3. Do they provide hostel for the first year degree students up until graduation? Some university only give hostel accommodation for the first year only.

1. You can only apply to enroll in UM through its website now. They have made their enrollment just like USM, no UPU.

3. Guaranteed hostel for 1st year students. You need to apply for it for the next following years. Your chances are depending on how active you are with kolej kediaman's activities.

Graduated from UM with Microbiology degree, but later took Master in Library Science. Now working in library.
If you like research, better continue until PhD. If not, many of my friends ended up in sales, insurance or teaching.

i am applying UM for 2016/17 enrollment. however i do not have MUET. is it possible to replace it with IELTS result? Any senior have done this before?

Do you mind sharing what is the differences between Software engineering, artificial intelligence and network? An I'm quite interested in Bioinformatics course, do you know anything about that course?

Are you currently working now? How is life as a software engineer? Is it a rutin life like medical field or you work on your own time ? Can a software engineer make an application and make money from it like games on the play store and app store?

Bioinformatics - Use the computing power to calculate the complex mathematics in biology, say DNA arrangement, protein folding. The syllabus contains both biology subjects and computing subjects, but not very deep.
Software Engineering - Memorise and memorise the software development process. Very boring.
Artificial Intelligence - Machine learning, big data, etc kind of cool things. It is getting very popular these days.
Computer System & Networking - Deal with hardware design (logic gates, VHDL, Verilog, etcs) and networking (CCNA syllabus and UM has a very nice Cisco lab).

Oh yes, bioinformatics falls under faculty of science, but not faculty of computer science & technology.
