there's nothing wrong using cap ayam pumps here. I've used cap ayam pumps for 7 years and none has given me any problems. What you need to find out before buying is these:

1. Make sure it's an inline based pump, submerged one's will spoil after awhile if not submerged.
2. What's the flowrate and head pressure (Units: QMax and HMax)
3. Is the inlet and outlet able to use brass barbs which can be screwed on straight away? (Trust me, some pumps require the use of a platic adapot, that you don't want)
4. What's the power consumption as remember that maain law of energy conservation which is
net energy in (power consumed) = pumping power + losses (Heat)

Do your research well and you might just come away a happy user

No... Look for Mr. MetalZone

QUOTE(lichyetan @ Dec 29 2007, 10:08 PM)
Laing D4 should be having the same spec as D4 rite? MCP650 vs 655...
i think i might change to 3/8 tubings as i dont think the 1/2 tubings can bend at the cpu and NB area...
*
I dont know the exact difference between both of the pump. But 650 is slightly weaker than 655. That for sure.

If u want to bend, you dont have to change to 3/8... U should consider 7/16 tubing.. Can bend better and you dont have to use clamp on 1/2 bard smile.gif

Swiftech of course.

If u just spend some time to google or just browse through the forum, you will know. It is a very stupid question. Like they said, it is not a fair comparision also.

P.S. Please dont type with ALL CAPS. Hard to read.

U could get Cooltrek, Alphacool, Swiftech or ThermolChill P.A. series ...

Tube wise u could get Clearflex or Masketeer ... I prefer Masketeer due it's transparency ..

Tube size and barb u could could do follow matching:

Barb: 3/8 Tube: 3/8
Barb: 1/2 Tube: 1/2

Just make sure the Barb thread size fit ur radiator as well.. commonly labeled as 1/4 or G4 size ....

RM400 isnt enough, but the thing which i love most about water cooling is that you can expand it step by step. But in order to do so, something which you MUST have would be a dual rad at least. And a decent one is approx RM200+. And a decent waterblock would be the Apogee GT which is approx RM199. This 2 item itself would total around RM450, including a nirox pump + tubing, a T-line and cheap tubings id suggest you prepare at least RM550.

Good choice but dont forget to get those Fuzion Nozzle also. Will help ur performance ALOT. smile.gif

If u plan to cool ur cpu only, just get those dual radiator is good enough. As the performance gain by using triple radiator on cpu is minimal compare to dual.

As for tubing, like stated by Doom... Just go for those 1/2 size tubing as 3/8 is too small and kind of hard to find IMO.

You need to determine which type of coolant to use also. e.g.

1. Distalled Water Only.
2. Distilled Water with Biocide mixture.
3. Those famous PC Ice Coolant.

Good luck ~! Welcome to WC group.

if u cant afford now, save up the money first and at least prepare around RM600-RM700 for a decent setup.

Dont waste ur money on those cheap/lousy watercooling as you will regret and it is freaking hard to resell those stuff.
