Thanx. In choosing a pump fir a cheap price, what actually looking for? is it the size, wight, power? on anything else. hmm.gif

size, quiet, reliable and performance(pressure) are factor for choosing pump.

purpose of WC will also need to consider (just want to create a quiet system or extreme OC system)

as i know, normally user will choose ehiem 1048 and 1250 for WC.(size of other model not suitable for WC)

Radiator mountings using custom cardboard mod... Its quite secure in my opinion. 1st Radiator mounted in my stacker's drivebays, 2nd radiator mounted on bottom of the case.

Leak testing and final look, temp almost same for CPU at idle but GPU temp reduced with just 3-6c between load and idle, while CPU temp reduced compare to last time when running 3dmark06(few loops) while running stress prime. Difference between idle and load for CPU minimal, i guess its the waterblock limits.

should be fine.. but if got the $$$ get a better radiator as the cooler master radiator are made of aluminium, its not good to mix metal inside a water cooling loop...

If I were you and want a lower maintenance loop, stay awal totally from coolants since what they say about it is quite true

distilled water has the lowest amount of heat absorption per molecule

if u want to increase it.. put some anti freeze

a lot of the gunk u get are sometimes just chemical residue from manufacturing process on the copper plates/alu/tubing etc...

its not an algae problem with coolants ... the chemical residue from the manufacturing process compounds with the coolant..

it happens with distilled water also except it more invisible... and doesn't form gunk.

u will find gunk will collect in more restrictive areas...

this is my 2 cent on this.
distilled water is good but the amount of heat it holds is just too little.
adding anti freeze( good quality ones) will definitely improve the amount of heat moved.

so solution to be sure of removal of chemical residues etc
cleaning with vinegar is pretty a good solution.

nirox P3800 user here.

It works awesome, pumping 1500L/H, you need to get the appropriate barbs and seal the font with epoxy though. Some modding is required before it can be fully operational as PC WC pump. Then again.. what the heck, its only RM4x doh.gif

1 advise though, be very very carefull with leaks with using modded pumps, set it up and run leak test at least overnight.

well... approx a week or so i think.. well i kinda expected its lifespan to be short. Its making rattling noise now, but nothing major, cant be heard when sidepanel is closed. The loudest component in my setup now would be Ram cooler > GFX > pump. The fans are barely audible as i set all of them to low rpm.

From my own point of view for a low budget WC, to see noticeable result from air cooling > water, major(expensive too sweat.gif) changes has to be done. Therefore, im currently cutting down cost on components that can be cost reduced and future worthwhile upgrading. Investing in a proper block/Rad is a MUST therefore basically theres nothing much you can save in this. Currently im only using 1/2" gas tubes (RM1.xx/feet) as my tubing, RM60 120mmx2 TT radiator grabbed from BST_Dude and the low cost nirox P3800(total spend on pump RM65). Good thing about WC is that, each can be upgraded slowly in the future. Once all the loops are complete, the last id upgrade would be from Nirox P3800 to MCP655(which by then, very likely the nirox wont be functioning well already).

Actually... i find it more satisfying this way than getting everything at a shot and not to mention it hurts the wallet too. Stage by stage venturing into WC, learning lessons along the way, figuring ideas to placement of each components and loop sequences and seeing improvement till the final result =)

Currently waiting for metalzone's cooltrek DP1202 and MCW60-R to arrive to my doorstep, rather exited =D

Last time a lot of P3800 were killed because overheating. P2800 is a better solution and they produce less heat too. Mine survived until i change to MCP 650. Just beware of the rattling sound, you wont know what would happen later. smile.gif
