Well, after running on Vista for awhile now... I'm impressed with the visual effects, but that's about it really. The sidebar is nice but it's just a gimmick. I've moved back to XP hehe I'll give it another go once there's better compatibility.

One thing I haven't tested yet though is the voice recognition. Ppl say it's really awesome. I never did get around to it. Any thoughts?

New Windows Standard Theme in Windows Vista

Many community members have expressed concerns over the visual experience of the Windows Basic theme, and, we heard you loud and clear. In fact, we too wanted something better, and we've overhauled this theme with an all new version. For those who haven't been following the discussion, let me brief you on the issue.

after i read until 24 pages... i feel very tired adi... but what can i say is... win vista its only for 'super cpu' ... what to do?... every 1 go to change their cpu n just only to suit the win vista... walau ... i just buy my com not more than 1 month... i need to change again?... siao... win xp still the best ... i had already use almost 4 years leh... vista is too high quality ... not every cpu can really suit it ... so ... use win xp until outdate bah XD

Couple of things..

1. It is a Beta. A Beta cant be taken to represent fully what the final version will be like.
2. As it is a Beta, there are plenty of debugging code in the background running. Which is why it may seem slow. Compare Beta 1 and Beta 2 in terms of performance.
3. Beta 2 has been installed on a 1.2Ghz machine running 256MB RAM. It will run. Just a matter of how well.
4. Win XP is the best ? Perhaps it was. Start using Vista, and you'll look back and wonder how you ever made that statement smile.gif

haha this build 5456 has alot obvious differences from build 5384
such as 1st time boot, a bit faster than build 5384

new aero mouse cursors

microsoft has released the newer version of vista beta 2,build 5472.5
this version is about 2.6gb ,about 100mb more than build 5456
however, i could not find this latest build 5472 mayb jus released today and it is only for MSDN or connect users
i hope this version bring us many improvements over previous version

so jus wait..for the iso at BT sites icon_rolleyes.gif

Should have put a note like "only for legitimate beta tester" or something similar incase any moderators accidentally refer it as warez etc. tongue.gif

Just a simple question, if I would to install an older build, can I install a newer build over the old one without deleting the user files?

you can easily generate the key by going to the microsoft vista homepage (click download)... all you need is a hotmail/MSN passport ...
you are only limited to 2 though.

I am a connect user, (got Office beta from there, pretty cool btw, recommend to download), let me get the newer vista... hopefully that solves my apparent incompatibility with winamp...everytime i install winamp, it failing to reboot due to a corrupted pxhlpa64.dll and i have to restore it to a point before i installed winamp...)
