QUOTE(1024kbps @ Feb 8 2007, 03:59 AM) if that is true vista will wipe the *ahem* mp3s or blabla, I had posted a question reragding this topic at officcial newsgroup of Microsoft.., no worries, i didn't meantion what type of tfiles or whatever.., see the one below:then what is the point of using vista? for ms word, excel, msn, surfing net and check mail only? "Ian" <Ian@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AD237949-A73F-4EF6-9DA8-DAAB0AC40FFA@microsoft.com... I have heard alot of news that Vista can search and delete users files without being notice by the user., such as media files and etc? Is it true?? There were few people claimed that their media files gone deleted by the OS.. As i far as i concern, this violates privacy rights regardless what type of files that the OS deleted. I was very happy on planning to upgrade to Vista before this.. Thanks. Ian ------------------------ P/S: Sigh.. This post has been edited by IanLim: Feb 8 2007, 05:31 AM |

I've been using Vista since Beta I and I never had it delete any of my MP3's, and I even use WMP11 as my default media player. And one thing I hate about In-Tech is that their articles are usually taken from LAT/WP, which supports Open Source more than they do on Microsoft, thus all their articles are always biased. If you ever compare any article they did with article done in house (ie: by InTech own reporters), they differs in opinion. To those who is using the retail version of Vista Home/Business/Ultimate, please tell us the 'build' version of your Vista. Wonder if it is the same build (6000) as the Vista RTM?

All my ripped MP3 (from my originals CDs) are still there safe and sound. What i'm really annoyed is Nvidia who has NO VISTA DRIVERS for the NFORCE 500 series platform yet!!! So much for the VISTA Ready logo plastered all over their website!!!! Well, at least it still can run, but maybe not optimize. This post has been edited by Matrix: Feb 8 2007, 11:53 AM |

I think i make a mistake la, should i be getting only the 32 bit? 64bit wouldn't be stable until every other softwares are stadardize in 64bit. BTW, i'm on vista ultimate 32bit. It runs fine. it's just that i can't install kaspersky antivirus. Any suggestion for alternative antivirus software? |
