i asked the notebook seller, they said free upgrade to vista is true, but you still have to pay for cd/license shipping cost

ya that one i know

but what i want to ask is: what is the DIFFERENT between the Vista upgrade DVD and the Vista OEM DVD?

does it mean the Vista upgrade DVD need Windows XP installation prior to the Vista upgrade?

You may fresh install vista. Alternatively, you may upgrade from existing XP. As long as you have a legal product key, you can use other installation CD.

It is not legal unless you obtain 2 license. You may try but you will encounter problems activating/updating etc.

want to ask something to those who uses Vista here...

Do you usually make it a dual-boot option or just install it as your main Windows OS.

Second... how do you see the build (version... like 5600 or maybe 6000) of your Vista??

Question repost:
Guys. May I know what features are different when comparing Vista Home Premium and Vista Business. What the hell is 'Business networking and Remote Desktop'. The Vista site is really not helping me choose.
Coz the difference isnt obvious, should I go with the cheaper Home Premium? What disadvantage is there? Will I be restricted to networks or anything like in XP Home?

wad the difference with 32 , 64, 86 bit?
can explain here?

Windows Vista will ship in six editions.

All editions will be available in both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, except Windows Vista Starter which will only be available for 32-bit architectures.

32-bit architectures can only run on x86 microprocessor architecture.

While, 64-bit architectures can only run on x64 microprocessor architecture.

I think there is no 86-bit architecture available in Windows Vista 'cause it's inpossible.
