hello, does anyone know how to prepare a portfolio for an interview? they said to include artworks from high school but I didn't take visual arts or lk during high school so i have no idea what to do. do i show them my sketch or...? please help. thanks in advance!

portfolios are generally works that you've done that showcases your abilities, preferably wide ranging or deeply specialized (or both!). usually when they ask for works during highschool, it doesnt necessarily mean for formal classes. it literally means anything you did during highschool years: be it in class itself, at home or some other place in whatever form.

I have a thought lately that if archi students were to progress to Part 2 after completing Part 1, based on the progression pathway and we gotta fulfill the compulsory 6 months practical experience.

So as suggested by sir azarimy, it's better for us to work immediately after our final year of Part 1. But, the questions is, we are not fulfilling the 6 months requirement yet if we start to work before the convocation, right? And it still counts us as an architectural intern.

are you talking about continuing directly from ending the programme in june 2017 and continuing in feb 2018? that's slighly more than 6 months, which is fine.

LAM counts experience for part 2 as working after having completed/passed all your part 1 courses/subjects. so if u've completed everything in june 2017, your 6 months work could start counting in july 2017.

My brother receive the interview for architecture programme from both UTM and USM on the same day and time, can he call to change the time and date?

If not, he has to choose only one uni to attend the interview.

UTM has two interview dates. Give us (UTM) a call to rearrange to a different so that it wont overlap. Usually I can manage this, but currently Im abroad.

Does the bold statement refer to acquiring one's graduate certificate? Or just merely the ending of that programme/obtaining the final results?

when you've finished all your courses, you can get a certificate from the school that you've completed all programmes and can start working. convocation is just a big ass party that celebrates your completion. it doesnt even hand u the actual certificates. these actually come much later with the graduation package which usually includes grad photos and whatever furnished documents. some schools hold convocations within 6 months of u finishing the course. some a month after. but did you know you could postpone your convocation until years later?

basically what i'm saying, convocation is NOT an indicator of when you finished studies. all schools with LAM part 1 will be know full well of the 6 months working requirement before joining part 2, and will have no problem issuing such letters.

if they refuse to issue the letter without reason, u can write to us (CAAEM) officially and we will look into the matter.

In my case, Creative Multimedia.

Have i? I cant remember. Perform in terms of what? Accreditation?

No, because we havent opened part time architecture degree under UTM SPACE 😂.

But if we have, then yes. But u might still have to start from 1st year.

I mean like, for instance, some of the facilities in an architecture school are not fully provided for the students etc. and we can like report (?) to the LAM guys? But there should be a list of guidelines and stuff that LAM prepares for the schools, isn't it? And do we get to see the list or some sort?
