Job Title : Network Engineer
Job Desciption : Product support
(basically provide support for new products brought into the company, also contains non-related job scope such as company computer maintenance and company internetwork)
Age: 24 this year
Education: Cert
Years spent in company : 2.8
Company : Chinaman
Industry : Security
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Snr Exec
Experience before joining : Nil
salary : RM 3+
benefit : Petro Allowance RM300, Dental RM200, Mileage 0.5sen/km during jobs only, OT (RM5/hr)

I need to know, should I continue with this place or hop around? But most importantly, I've been contemplating to continue study because no degree/mba/dip very hard to get opportunity.

Your package seems pretty decent to me considering you have neither degree nor diploma. In fact, a lot of degree holders probably get similar amount of salary with that much experience. Have you tried applying for other jobs and find out what you can get?

Current salary : RM 2.1k (end of this month will take 2.5k)

Am I underpaid? What should I get for the market rate?
Thanks

I am thinking of jumping ship to O&G. Good pay! Good idea for civil engineer?
*
Just jump to o&g. either going to the operator or the vendor or consultant, its up to you.
just a gentle reminder, o&g field measures you with your experience. eventhough you have 1.5yrs of exp,
chances are you will be paid as a freshie level. those operator companies (shell, petronas, exxonmobil, kpoc) pay more than the vendor and consultant (obviously).
if you're not that lucky, you can still enter vendor (like transformers - abb, or DCS - honeywell, emerson, yokogawa) or consultant (technip, aker solution, ranhil worleyparson) but the pay is just slightly above the average. normally the OT & onshore/offshore allowance in o&g field are highly paid. and its a trend that people just work for contract position, and not permanent. once you've entered o&g, you'll know. im in vendor company. OT is arnd rm20 per hour. basic is just 2.8k. onshore allowance rm60. offshore allowance rm180. mileage rm0.70. age - same as yours, but im in electrical line. later after a few years (normally pple set 2 years) you can jump to your client company (operators) tongue.gif

have you asked urself few questions below:

1. What's lifestyle you want in 1st place? - suffer 3 years, learning at steep curve, pickup industry knowledge, then switch to commercial after that with your bullet and enjoy better lifestyle.

2. Enjoy constant peaceful lifestyle - start work 8:30am n back home 5:30pm everyday, learning at little curve, accummulate over the years...

ACCA holder with 0 experience will earn more or less as degree fresh graduates. basic salary for fresh graduates at big4 i think around rm2200 - rm2800. correct me if im wrong. i dont know basic salary for an auditor (not assitant auditor) as fresh graduates cant become auditor as soon as they grads.to obtain chartered accountant title also require 3 years work xp.
