Regarding job hopping: Hop up the ladder, don't hop around the same height as if you're lost, short sighted rabbit who blindly follow the carrot.

How many years of experience do you have before joining this current company?
I can say your salary is quite high.
*
Sorry for the late reply, just back from Singapore for working trip.

Previously i work as engineer for agriculture industry for few years in Johor then I went back to further my study in KL

I joined this company as intern last time back in mid 2009. With the opportunities that high level management gave me, i manage to fulfill the task given, so far, I've manage to play my role in the pitch team and won some clients for the company. This is why they appreciated for my contributions. nod.gif

But sometime, I really worry in the sense of, if i failed the task they gave me in the future, will they disappointed on me? Sometime when we're meeting/brainstorming in the room, I really got nothing to say as sometime my brain is empty (this makes me worry too) sad.gif . My current role in this industry I'm in now is very competitive, if you're not able to show something creatively several times, others will not involve you in the future games sweat.gif . This is why I need to read a lot of stuffs thru only, not matter Local or Foreign media stuffs. unsure.gif

How about you? Are you work in the same industry as me? rolleyes.gif

Do you mind sharing the pros and cons in being a job hopper?
*
Not sure whether you all ok with the below,

Pros
1. Your salary increment will be better.
2. Exposed to different company culture and learning experience.
3. Get to know more people.
4. Opportunity will be higher

Cons
1. It is not good for your portfolio because of the short period in previous companies. One/two time(s) still ok, but if several times. They will know.
2. Get to know more people is good but somehow. if you hop a lot, people will start to talk bad about you and sooner or later, the bad things will travel to your current/future interviewers.
3. Your working experience will be limited.
4. Do not know how to fully utilize the different type of twist and turn for task accomplishment. Especially the crisis happened. (different companies have their own type of solution for the difficult task/crisis)

Be a job hopper or not, it depends on the industry as some of the industry requires years of experience and some are not. The best recommendation is grab the opportunity in the right time and shine. Sometime, you will have no choice but to be an ass licker in order to get yourself a future advancement insurance/opportunity.

Don't only work hard, but need to work smart as well.

depends on which dept you go into, like investment bank could get up to double digit mth bonus. All comes back to profits payout of the bank, the more profit of cos the more you get, average bonus in bank is around 2-3 months , sales exec have commission or performance bonus

Hi, I'm not exactly the same as your line. I'm in Communications.
But I can tell your salary is considered high (according to your working experience). But of course, I understand that the working pressure would go double as well.

Partly agreed with your statements.

People talk bad for certain reasons. If you can perform well in each company that your hop, I don't see a reason why people would talk back about you.

Secondly, how short is short for you?

Contract not too bad la actually. smile.gif I'm on contract too but in term of job security I guess I'm pretty secured at the moment. smile.gif

Though many hate contract for the job insecurity and lack of benefits.

Didn't expect O&G underpays its staffs. hmm.gif Still, I'm not too sure of your job scopes and market price for your position. smile.gif
