I found out that this is an interesting topic.

Age: 25
Education: Law Degree
Job Title : In-house Counsel
Job Description : Providing legal support/legal advice to the Company
Years spent in company : Two months
Company : MNC
Industry : Property Development
Tenure : Permanent
Employment Level : Junior Executive
Experience before joining :1 year post-chambering experience
Salary : RM 4K basic
Benefit: Breakfast+Lunch (via staff coupons at Company's food court), Medical Benefits (extended to immediate family members (spouse, kids & parents)), 15% EPF Company's Contribution, 7% discount on purchase of property developed by the Company.
Increment and bonus: 7%. Past performance bonus ranged from 2-6 months.

Appreciate if anyone can shed the light on these issues:-
1) Is it hard for those who cannot converse/write in Mandarin/Cantonese to get a job in Singapore?
2) Salary-wise (as I am new in corporate environment), does it make any difference for those who has MBA?

Thank you.

LOL. Actually... I am an ah moi myself but not so lenglui laa. hahaha

Anyway... I've been there to Cyberjaya as a vendor. And yeah... the transportation costs really kill me man. The food? Indeed... crazily expensive and not so much of choices. However, I do know that if you work with a small scale company... it is normal to have a 'slightly underpaid' salary especially if it is project based. The only pros of small scale company that I can think about is... you can have a lot of skillset and be a multi specialist (and multitasker) in a lot of things as you didn't focus only in one major area as what any big company did. If you weren't a multitasker... it's hard to breathe though.  laugh.gif

Too many specialties won't really bringing you some luck sometimes  blush.gif

*Edit

Anyway, is there any standard range or guideline to demand for salary increment?

I mean... every time you demand to increase your salary... how much can you demand? RM1k per year or how much?
*
i m sorry, senorita.

if you refer to increment, i m not sure as each company has their own plan. if change job, each time get 30% or more.

however, it depend on your requirement too. I have friend who ask for lower pay because he want a relax job.

30% maybe applicable in the early stage...after that it's hard to gain 30% in each jump.

Yeah, a friend of mine also stated the same thing. He provides me some calculations on how much can I demand for my expected salary. Sadly, the calculation seems confusing. Or maybe I am the only one who got confused.

( Salary + contractual bonus (if any) ) * 12 = annual income

Then,

(30% from the annual income) / 12 = salary increment

Is the calculation wrong or it is calculated like that?
