You need experience before you can be a consultant else who will listen to you?

yup, i understand that. Hence i think long term wise with experience consultancy will be better pay.

But in short term, factory/semicon will pay better, isn't it correct?

Not butthurt & although this is just a forum, but do post factual figures too (of course without giving your personal details and company name). It is not just handful posting high income (vs their experience) but at least 15-20% of the total replies here. Also there is an instance where a guy boast high income from commission based & try to recruit thread readers as downline too.

There are already many fresh graduates being picky of jobs and these fictitious figures will make them drool, dream and more picky.

i m bout same experience as you, started with 1800 then gradually move to 2800 in 2 years then jump ship at 3200 and gradually increasing to 5k+ which take bout 5 years, but which I think it is very slow.

recently there is a new offer bout 7k. And mostly I m going to sign it smile.gif.

Getting certifications + upgrading skills are necessary for IT. It is tiring but that's y it is an interesting industry.

Well, view it how you may wish. Your savings depends on yourself. 40 - 50% of my salary is usually gone when it comes in due to commitments and yet I can still save 900 - 1.3k per month. Its really how you spend it.

[B]do you hav a Gf? U guys go on AA/Dutch? U power can save so much... Do u need to pay car installment? Parking? Rental? Insurance? Personal grooming?

Definately underpaid. However, salary comes with capabilities. Could your salary be a reflection of your capability ? If yes, then I dont think you can demand more.

People seem to think that the longer you work the more you deserve. It doesn't work that way unless it is backed up with solid experience and know-how.
