I'm wondering, as PHD Student, you may well at least write properly and the way your writing does not reflect you as PHD Student, i apologize if i offended you, but it seem you take it like PHD is easy to do and so on. IT professional can mean a lot of things, exec, senior exec, manager, head, director, etc. It would also depend on what are you, a programmer, functional consultant etc. Focusing on hardware, software, etc. Which language? Java / ABAP / .Net etc. Years of experience as well. You may be 30 - 33 and you may graduate at 22 - 27 years old. All this plays a part in determining a good / decent salary.

So its a bit hard to provide you a range as the range would be huge.

I am abap programmer previously earning RM15K(contract)..now cut to RM7K(permenant)..not bad for me

Maybe it is time for you to reconsider your current job What MNC is that that pays so low?
