How was your trip? Was it snowing?I heard it was snowing a couple of days ago.I also went there early March. How come your cost is only RM1500?Is it include shopping? My trip costs me RM2000 for flight, accomodation, transport and souvenirs.Tell us more!

Yes, it was snowing/raining the day we came back from Gyeonju (24th march). we didn't manage to catch a picture because it is only for a short time. we only realized that it was snowing after realizing the slow motion drop rclxms.gif .

my gross expenses:

food:rm300 (i only eat proper meal once a day, ranging 7000-14000-i'm muslim so not many choices)
shopping: rm250 (souvenir only-bought at Insadong, there is one shop where the lady can speak BM. she gave us superb discount rclxms.gif ). i did buy something from Nature Republic which cost me RM6.6 after 50% discount, but got threw away at the airport because i forgot to put it in my luggage cry.gif
transportation: rm 120 (subway/bus-the bus to Gyeonju is free otherwise it is going to cost 26000 won return)
admission: rm130 (2 palaces, namsan tower+cable car,Gyeonju,Hangang river cruise(15000 won)-we went to Hangang river at night,if daytime the cost of the cruise only 11000 won)
accomodation: rm360 (3 person @ 55000 won per night)

total cost at South Korea RM1160 exhange rate 1000 won=0.00282, i brought rm1800. the balance will be use for my next trip thumbup.gif (i want to go to Gyeonju/Jeonju/Sockho)

seoul still cold today..switching from winter to spring..they start putting flower pots on the pedestrian walkways...
u still need winter jacket with hood preferred since rain sometimes will come, glove would be a plus since no need to put hand in the pocket.
Night time temp can go down as low as 5C maybe...
anyway, since winter is leaving, they r selling cheap the winter clothes..

nami island? maybe. cos the view taken is superb plus the landscaping and the arrangement of the trees all align so nicely. rclxm9.gif

Mostly suggested Yeuido, while some said Namsan. I'm planning to check out Namsan Park first.

To anyone who has gone to Mt Seorak before, how far is the entrance to the cable car? How many minutes does it take to walk from the entrance to the cable car station?

And then, does anyone know if we could ride a bus from Sokcho to Gangneung?

Added on March 31, 2011, 9:25 amLaily, I am wondering whether we need to give tips & pay for the driver's lunch?

Yup,we rent the van from Jeju Hiking Inn, which costs us KRW120,000 per day from 9am to 6pm.The van could accomodate 6-7 people.

Actually I'll be going to Seoul next week, but I cancelled already and lost RM500 per person due to the radiation level is getting higher over there, really scare, not worth to take such risk since I only want to go there to enjoy!!!

End of May still got another months, maybe you can wait and see first, if it really getting worse that time, then you got no choice, just cancelled it.

my 2cent about the radiation thing,as far as im concern cos i study physics till my uni lvl already, this radiation thing actually can be spread very fast and to very far cos the half-life can just duplicate and multiply in a very short time, and somemore i think the radioactive substance they use should be quite a something cos its a power plant and also its spreading direction is RANDOM but not too sure about the wind blow thing, maybe u in malaysia are experiencing a little radiation u never know that. For me,if i already have a trip plan to go to anywhere near japan i don find a reason to cancel it,because you gonna be there like a week?like as though for a week u are exposed to slightly higher radiation level u will be diagnosed with cancer, unlike the 50 workers that work nearby the power plant that are constant exposed to the radiation. No offense everyone just my opinion about this. Maybe some sifu that is expert in this field can explain more hmm.gif
