i downloaded the Eclair ROM n Froyo ROM on the 1st page of this thread
both couldnt boot
then i tried ta ROM from Samfirmware.com, at least can open recovery mode..but still cant boot

Besides, is ZSJPE Modem the best to be used in Malaysia? In term of GPS and Wifi?

well, I i believe DXJG4 is for asian market. Is your phone AP? If yes, then you might wanna try Flash JM8(2.1) first from samfirmware.com, if wanna upgrade to froyo, then there is JS7(2.2.1) now. These ROMs are on the Europe Rom list.


My SGS is from Australia, i have tried putting in DXJGX ROM before, but it didnt boot, and stuck at the boot screen just like you.

hmm forumers here claimed xxjve modem is better. i'm using that as well.

for darky's rom, the odin version is only for darky's v9.2

XXJVE? For which country? GPS performs better? May I know where can I get the modem?

Oh Ya. But the forumer said, to upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3. Just recovery mode required, is it true? And version different in recovery mode?

first page got the link for xxjve modem. it's the gingerbread modem not sure bout gps.. for some, it's better

hmm, recovery mode as in cwm. if you're flashing 9.2 first using odin, you'll automatically have the cwm recovery

fornx, did zumapuma already success flashing the simply 2.4? kinda worry because i want to do the same, (darky > stock > simply 2.4)...huhuhu..dunno wanna use dxjpe or eclair to flash to stock rom as zumapuma stuck at both right?

i flashed directly from darky to simply...

the things u must do

1. backup all your belonging/things
2. boot into cwm and disable all lagfix/tweak if any
3. in cwm too...factory reset..wipe dalvix cache also
4. flash to new simply rom (same method as you flash darkyy
5. and wait for first boot...and wallaa...

Which stock firmware that you guys use? I personally use JM8 as it is the last reliable eclair firmware leaked by richtofen at xda forum. I have used it many times without problem.

zumapuma seems to have difficulties with firmware downloaded from first page and dxjg4 from samfirmware.com

I recorded track from Mytracks app using xxjve modem. Accuracy about the same with zsjpe. Maybe a little bit better. I'm happy with it.

nope..no at all..smooth sideeeee....but remember to put simply rom 2.4 (size about 200++mb) NOT the simply rom 2.4.1 update (size 4mb)

when i'm using zsjpe i cannot see even single sat..but now i'm using xxjve...the performance it quite impressive..lock only 7 second..and not on-off..

but then different place/weather the result may vary

my phone cacated. can't even lock with jve and gps aids xD

i'm not using gps aids..i used gps opt and gps booster apps from market..quite reliable...first try may took some time..but atfer that...it oke..
