Is there any one has tried darky and Doc's ROM.
Mind sharing opinion on both pro and cons? Added on March 1, 2011, 7:45 pm QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 1 2011, 06:08 PM) oo.. it is known that you can't change the lock screen wallpaper on custom rom like darky's.. have you tried the aosp wallpaper or something similar option on darky configurator if i'm not mistaken? Thanks, Fornaxlife.Nope. I'm on darky ROM. But I don't even know how to tweak my SGS to the max performance. Hehe....... I just used it out of the box only. QUOTE(noobie1 @ Mar 2 2011, 12:14 AM) Sometimes you can, and sometimes not. As I first read about their review before buying my SGS, they didn't mention at all about lagginess. Well, maybe the lag that we experienced does not looks like a lag to them (hmm... are they slow poke or what......lol)Anyway, the current gingerbread ROM is just a beta version, right? Is it custom or original ROM from Samsung? I heard that there is no lagfix or kernel for gingerbread as yet, is it true? Or we don't actually need one anymore? IMO, somtimes I feel that beta version could be smooth than the final release. May be they change some coding or what in their final release which may or may not lead to lagginess or bugs. Not sure if you all guys agree with me or have encounter this before? Last but not least, if my PapagoX5 can't detect my GPS location at all (may be after 5 -10 mins). Do you think I can send in to Samsung service centre to claim that the GPS is faulty? Has anyone tried doing that before? Many thanks. |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Mar 2 2011, 06:07 PM) Simply Galaxy ROM 2.3 SweetHoney is nice! Feels a little snappier than Darky 9.3. I like the blueish theme after weeks of staring at green (Darky) and then black (Sconcau).. Simply Galaxy ROM 2.3 Sweethoney? Also, my colleague tried the leaked Gingerbread JV1 firmware - too buggy for daily use, especially when it comes to 3rd party apps and games.. What is that? Ginger bread? What is smart keyboard pro? Paid Apps? Nice and User friendly? |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 7 2011, 09:52 PM) i'm using custom boot animation ma lols Thanks for the info, bro.hmm, if on wifi and heavy use, up to 10% per hour but if on idle without wifi (light use), 1% drain every few hours (uv-ed) May I know where can I find the custom boot animation? Do all the custom boot animation can be used for all custom ROM or it has to be ROM specific? Besides, I saw you using DamianGTO ultimate kernel? What's that? Nice? Coz I only heard about voodoo and speedmod only. |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 7 2011, 10:36 PM) i can't find the thread d.. but it's somewhere in xda theme section xD Overclocked sounds great. But I'm more conservative. Hehe.i think can be used for all roms.. just place the 'bootanimation.zip' in data/local will do err, it's a kernel where you can overclock to 1.2ghz, underclock to 800mhz or undervolt.. as compared to speedmod, it's much faster imo more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959696 btw, i oc-ed and uv-ed with all ext2 lagfixes including loops.. and i can say throughout all the flashing i have done since october last year, this is fukken fast and smooth (battery saving also) Added on March 7, 2011, 10:38 pm yea you're right. you don't have to remove root btw I just wonder is there any benefit for choosing Damian kernel if I don't do OC or UV? Can I install all voodoo, speedmod, and Damian kernel and changed them whenever I like in the recovery mode? |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 9 2011, 03:40 PM) err, though you don't oc or uv, you can try damian kernel also.. some claimed it to be faster than speedmod without oc/uv Hi, Fornaxlife.of course you can't flash all at once.. but if you wanna switch kernels (for example damian to speedmod), just disable lagfixes and tweaks before proceeding to cwm and you're good to go if you are switching kernels from (speedmod k12a to k12b), you don't have to disable anything before flashing.. same goes to voodoo and damian Added on March 9, 2011, 3:41 pm i don't think theres cwm version for stock rom.. lemme check the first page cwm is for custom roms I can't find my Tweak option in recovery mode. Only disable lagfix? How about debug? How is your wifi doing after flash to new modem? |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 9 2011, 08:51 PM) hmm forumers here claimed xxjve modem is better. i'm using that as well. XXJVE? For which country? GPS performs better? May I know where can I get the modem?for darky's rom, the odin version is only for darky's v9.2 Oh Ya. But the forumer said, to upgrade from 9.2 to 9.3. Just recovery mode required, is it true? And version different in recovery mode? This post has been edited by Star_knight79: Mar 9 2011, 08:57 PM |

QUOTE(Fornaxlife @ Mar 9 2011, 08:59 PM) first page got the link for xxjve modem. it's the gingerbread modem Oh I see. Thanks. hmm, recovery mode as in cwm. if you're flashing 9.2 first using odin, you'll automatically have the cwm recovery If flash, need to take out SIM card? No need to rename to update.zip, right? |
