QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 9 2011, 09:23 PM) Which stock firmware that you guys use? I personally use JM8 as it is the last reliable eclair firmware leaked by richtofen at xda forum. I have used it many times without problem. do u have the link for the JM8?zumapuma seems to have difficulties with firmware downloaded from first page and dxjg4 from samfirmware.com This post has been edited by flawless_333: Mar 9 2011, 09:35 PM |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 11 2011, 12:52 AM) My phone will get hot everytime I use an app called barnacle wifi tether when I'm charging with a power source. Happens with insanity and sweethoney rom. hmm..i alredy kill all the apps using the advance task killer provided with simply..and my wifi is off...but still hot..will it harm the phone if hot when charging?Check if you have any running app in the background. from 2.4 to 2.5, just flash the non wipe version right? or is there any update package? |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 11 2011, 01:23 AM) - I have no idea why sometimes the battery gets hot. I got it randomly when charging and using cpu intensive app at the same time. If I pull out charging cable, the temperature will go back to normal. thanx - Battery life will degrade faster if left hot. - Non-wipe is enough. No update package. |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Mar 13 2011, 02:08 PM) WCDMA data drinks power like short circuiting the battery. I change to EDGE when I don't need to tether/download. EDGE is good enough for casual browsing and widget updating. gmhafiz, sorry for noob question..1. Whats the different between choosing GSM only or WCDMA only and GSM/WCDMA(automode)? 2. how do we set the data to EGDE only? is it GSM = EDGE, WCDMA = 'H', and GSM/WCDMA(automode) = EDGE/H ? 3. if i set to GSM only, can i still browse the internet and receive push mail? coz i never set GSM only, my setting is always GSM/WCDMA... |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ Mar 15 2011, 11:23 PM) 1. TBH, I am not really sure. I am only on EDGE. so I set it to GSM only. ok thanx gmhafiz and ken2291..another one..if we set it to GSM only, and not using WCDMA (H) which is better than GSM , will it affect our gps positioning as mobile signal also help to lock right in google map?2. I think you are correct. 3. Yup, at EDGE speed. If you are only using edge, better set it to GSM only so that the phone does not waste battery searching for WCDMA signal. |
