Hi all

Wish to check if the price below is reasonable or not.

I wish to level my back yard ( currently is soil with grass 180 sqft. ) to cement with 1x1 tiles. The price around RM 2200. It is reasonable? Anything I need to take note?

Thanks in advance.

Feruni at Perfect Living selling some 600x600 (2'x2') at RM11.99 per piece limited to first 250 pieces.

YE04NN - Garnet Series RM11.99
PU01NN - Pure Series RM14.99

Any good, Feruni? Did a search but no one made any conclusive statements. laugh.gif

They have a couple others around that price also, but I didn't take down the model numbers.

I've been to their showroom in PJ. Nice tiles but pricey. If the offer for all porcelain tiles (not just a fixed type) then its cheap (for Feruni).
I think you are like me, sold on their showroom rclxms.gif

I think they're trying to project an "Italian" and exclusive feel and brand. Tiles made in China, but then again, so are Niro Granite tiles (or so I've read).

I'll ask my tiler what he thinks of Feruni tiles tomorrow.

Joda48, i did ask ..the tile shop all lazy wanna help ..say 'so little won't cut for u one la' .. so i don't know how now

by the way, i went to houz depot today..they sell feruni tiles. However the sales person told me that feruni mostly half body or something. Can't remember the term he used. But he said feruni very very seldom got full body/homegenous type. i'm very surprised. Can anyone advise on this?

Was wondering whether the ones on promotion at perfect living is not full body tiles..hence that price?

Yes, those Feruni on offer are not full body, hence the price. Feruni have a few full body lines as well. I just found out today too.

Clean cut either use high pressure water cutter using cnc, or like someone say using laser cut. Wonder if they want to do small quantity.

I don't understand, isn't all porcelain full body? does it mean it's ceramic or it's not ceramic either?
So..what happens if got chipping?

If got chipping, you will see the base colour of the tile which is normally light colour. If using dark colour tiles, very obvious.

i bought 1 house (flat) with 750 sqf.
with currently living n dining floor got tiles and 3 bedrooms with parquet.

asked few contractors ,but only 2 replied :

1st contractor - they need to see the site first before decide whole price even though i already give them plan.

2nd contractor - got 2 options

a) new tiles (2x2) and repair parquet

total cost RM 5670:
mobilization cost : 1400 (2 weeks = 14 days)
demolishing/removing 1280
floor finished (including 2x2 tiles) : 2600

b) new tiles (2x2) and new laminated timber floor
total cost : RM 7366
mobilization cost : 1400 ( 2 weeks = 14 days)
demolishing/removing including : remove parquet = RM256 & demolished old tile = 390
floor finished : (tiles 2x2) = 2600 (laminated timber floor) = 2720

mobilization cost : Transportation cost, rentals of machineries, delivery of materials charged by supplier, temporary works & dustbin.

is it reasonable price for tile renovation especially in mobilization cost & time frame

Yours is a flat/ apartment? There will be additional labour just to move the material up to your unit. If it is a walk up flat, worst, have to use the staircase. Thus the additional cost.
Some flat management are quite stringent in the construction debris removal.
