If condo, maybe less than 2K included disposed the rubbish.

My contractor charge me high due to disposed the rubbish is harder part, but recently i have found the indo worker can help me disposed the rubbish can cost much more cheaper. but is too late.

Normally chinese contractor charge around 6.50psf included hack and lay + all material.

Ahh, thanks for that. I'm now thinking should I make a change to the toilets as it is expensive. Once change those tiles have to change WC, basin and etc.

Wet kitchen floor tiles should have higher slip resistance and thus try to get the matt, structured or lapatto (sp?) finish.  In my opinion, matt finish is good enough as it is easier to maintain and offer enough slip resistance when wet.  If you want to go cheap, get the china, Vietnam etc tiles and some are around RM12 for 2x2. For my wet kitchen, I opted for Niro Granite Balsatina series which is around RM25 for 2x2. I also like their Charmed series. These are the newer series that you may not seen in their web site.  I also checked out the Guecera, MML, White Horse but settled for Niro.

My kitchen will be completed next week.  I can show you my wet and dry kitchen then!

I assume the tiles less than RM15 (for 2x2) are not porcelain tiles?  When I got mine, even my cheapest Niro Granite porcelain tiles is already about RM25 for 2x2.

I just buy a second hand condo. As a tight budget, instead of reinstall the titles, i only plan to clean it:-

1) Chemical to wash or polish the tiles? Can recommend the product name and where can buy it?

2) As we know, in between the tiles, there is cement and normally it is white color. Now, most of it is become dirty which showing black. Any product can cover back? I think this should have, like what the contractor worker doing.

Niro is almost everywhere! You can get it at STADEC (jln Segambut), all the shops at Jln Ipoh, etc. I got mine at Apex Jalan Ipoh. It also has a shop at Viva mall. Apex may not be the cheapest but the service has been good and it has some really nice (but obviously expensive) imported Spanish tiles.

We have heard a lot about Niro tiles in this forum and I wonder if anybody heard of Taicera or Kita tiles by Opsiprima before and know of their tiles qualities?

Hi
Anybody knows what kind of tiles these are? ----> just found out that this is quarry tiles.

Are they good? Not sure if I should replace it with ceramic tiles or leave them alone. They were installed on my balcony. Any suggestions?

Thanks

susu is one of the material gonna to use for 2x2 tiles if don't have new cement+sand to be lay.
if your floor have new cement+sand then you noneed susu la gang !!!
purchase 2x2 tiles must select price RM17above per piece, otherwise the tiles surface will not have good level, means after install you will see uneven level.

helo..

expensive tiles doesn't mean u will get a "even surface" tile on the surface. Porcelain tile is a firing product and will not achieve 100% flatness on the surface. as long as a 2-3mm gap between the tile is being practise, you will be able to see a good result. smile.gif

Dear all,

I am looking to re-tile my newly bought condo in PJ.
2 bathroom and kitchen area.
If i am looking for tiles that are easy to maintain, what qualities of specification of tiles should i look for?
I really have no idea about tiles.
Thank you in advance.

for 'wet' area like kitchen n bathroom, choose something matt/anti slip / rough surface.
there are many many tiles out there. surface should be ur priority

many many brands like Niro, MML, Whitehorse, Venus, Guocerra, Cotto , Feruni etc
and many china/vietnam tiles , which u should try to avoid

for 2x2, price ranges from rm 16 above for those branded tiles, where reportedly Niro is a step above than the others, and off coursethe price more exp too
china/vietnam tiles as low as rm9 above etc
u have 1x1,1x2, etc size..
